Some excellent help there Roman. Use Lightroom a lot on my images and have a similar workflow to yours. I struggle a bit with PS (removing unwanted objects etc.) so need more work there! Thanks again.
Some Cracking ideas there, without realising I have been using this much of this approach for years with control point / U-Point technology when I used Nikons and Nikon Software, and its followed my migration to Photoshop and Fuji. Its given me some really good ideas of how to do things a little more intelligently than my present workflow. Thank you so much
Nice! I also like to boost the shadows in cases where there's lower light around my subject or their clothing (versus boosting exposure in your example of the woman with the umbrella). Then depending on how that works out, I might add a touch of black as well. I like that you added warmth though. I don't do that as often. It does provide some life.
The prevailing wisdom is that Capture One is better equipped to handle Fuji raw files than LR, which supposedly damages Fuji raws. Frankly, this seems silly and feels like one of those things that maybe was once true but Adobe probably has updated their software to better Fuji raws. What do you think? Notice any image quality issues with LR?
This is an awesome video nice one - I normally use capture one pro but my renewal time is near and thinking of changing to lightroom fully what’s your main reasons using one over the other? Thanks
Tried both. The difference is minimal imo. I adjusted the sharpness settings to zero for both and difference was minimal in raw conversion. Hope that helps 🙂
Hey, unrelated question, but does your display/ picture reduce in exposure/ dim once you hold the shutter button when taking photos? Even when it is meant to be locked. When using the XT4 33mm prime
Yeah this happens on my Fuji’s too. When it engages autofocus, it no longer shows exactly what the final photo will look like. It seems to lack the full dynamic range and emphasize contrast. In AF-S, it only happens quickly until it’s found focus. In AF-C, it’ll stay in the contrasty mode until you release the shutter again, because the autofocus needs to keep working. The final photo will still look like what is previewed before you engage your shutter though!
Thanks for sharing examples. But please work on the touch about saying “like so”. You seem to be saying it every few sentences. If this would be a drinking game I would be dead, even with taking shots of tap water

How exactly does this count as photography? You took a base picture and started painting over it, which is not capturing a moment anymore, but rather fabricating one.
Well I didn’t technically paint over it… as that would ruin the iPad. Unless you use watercolour… that could come off a bit easier with a spot of elbow grease and a wet napkin.
That was so zen to watch. I would love to see more of these
Lightroom should add a rectangle gradient to go along with the radial gradient, it would work much better for street photography and streetscapes
This was so helpful! Definitely has inspired me to revisit previous edits as well!
Thanks! Always love and appreciate when you do these. It’s pretty much a free education. 🙏🏾
Thank you!
This video is amazing ... no other words for it!!!!
That last photo was a crazy composition. Thanks for all the editing tips

I learn so muchhhh from your videos! Thank you for sharing the knowledge!
I just learned how to do this despite having been a casual photographer since about 2007 and it is mind blowing what you can do.
This technique will work well with my underwater photography. Thanks for sharing.
Question: Do guy keep PRE - AF on it off on your camera? And do you use the electronic or mechanical shutter?
Excellent tips ! I never use the masking tools enough, will give this a go👍
Oh man it is great. It confused my for the first month or 2 using it but eventually it’s just like riding a bike
Amazing, really enlightening. No pun intended.
Excellent content! Thanks for sharing👍🏻
Need more of this!!!!
Thank you Roman! Really good tips and tricks, so helpful
I really enjoyed that video, I like that I can use lightroom to its full potential.

I have always heard Capture One was better with Fujifilm
depends what you mean by better. Some aspects of it are better. Some are much worse

Erm just get a canon
@@mxtreme87 nice joke
Hi , Roman! Do you edit raw images or jpeg?
RAW, of course

honestly dont know as I dont have my XT4 any more. I know it can go brighter sometimes

@@Brian444 ah ok thanks! Not just me then
Is editing on a tablet better (More convenient or enjoyable) than editing on a laptop?
yeah I love editing on my iPad
@@snapsbyfox I really gotta try it. How do you go about getting the RAW files onto it? Via cloud or adapter?
Way more enjoyable for me
Thank you! I think that by now the guy in Jerusalem is famous 🤣 I love that photo, it's my favorite!

Making photos is different to taking photos! Making photos is better for the soul.
How is applying tonal adjustments 'painting over' a base picture?
@@snapsbyfox Roman "no f***s given" Fox 🤣
Why are you talking down the photographers that are using window computers for photo editing ??
care to elaborate?
@@snapsbyfox Did you listen to you video when you edit them ???
