@@cameroncook2048 Shit ended up bad for me and my family and my mental health dropped quite a bit. I didn’t end up doing my GSCE’s and my college life is slightly mangled but it’s getting there. I hope to get an apprenticeship as a teaching assistant though I’m still figuring out who I want to be. I’m really into history though, specifically Victorians and I’m into historical clothing too. I’m actually practicing sewing so I can make my own historical clothes but we’ll just have to see where the wind blows :)
Leicester is a city relatively few seemed to visit unless they studied there or went on school open days there. The Space Centre, the Comedy Festival, and the burial of Richard III might have changed that to some extent. The beauty of this city largely lies in its close knit feel between the university and its halls and its people. It comes from a mix of tradition and modern-thinking. The university really does totally dominate a section of Leicester inbetween city and suburb. Despite its international student reputation, it is also like a microcosm of all forms of English university education and English public architecture of the last 100 years. Lovers of classically post WW2 modern architecture may love it but Oadby is also classically 'halls of residency' in a solidly cosy kind of way. Its reputation for DNA fingerprinting will always put it on the map but so will its striking form factor
I accomplished MA at the University of Leicester. Actually, it is one of the top universities in the world. I encourage everyone to do MA and PhD at the University of Leicester.

I'm speaking for engineering, I can't speak for any other course. But poor lecturers with bad explanations, hard to understand what they are even saying. Outside help if you're stuck on work is hard to get. My main problem was with in labs (the practical side). They expect you to know what you're doing with fuck all explanation, when you ask for help, they don't help, they just leave you to it instead of actually teaching. I could go on for agers but engineering is not good there.
Everyone knows that nearby Loughborough has a better reputation for Engineering. Still, the buildings at Leicester are so distinctive, not least the famous engineering building by Stirling and Gowan.
