  • Like it says on the tin, going over the MKM Campo 8 vs the Victorinox Huntsman.
I'm still gonna carry the Campo and see how it goes as I still enjoy it, there's just some worrying things, you know?

Thanks! He's not small anymore like he thinks he is... The grey boy was watching from a perch, which is all fine cuz they probably would've started fighting 🤣

Very nice, I got the fork model and really enjoying it. It doesn't feel as precise as a Victorinox but nice to get a slightly beefier blade with a better steal and I love that it has a fork haha. Appreciate hearing you're initial insights on this one. Thanks for sharing!

These have crossed my radar although I think it was the Malaga line rather than the Campo, as have other ''SAK type'' pocket knives like those from Suiza, Bokerplus etc. I bought a nice olive wood handled pocket knife made by Mercury (also from Maniago, Italy) which has the toolset of the Waiter i.e. blade, bottle opener, corkscrew, and although I do like it, I very rarely carry it as I just find a Victorinox more practical.
Take the can opener on the Vic, I hardly ever use it to open cans, although I did a few weeks ago when the ringpull came off the can so I had to, but works really well as a Phillips no. 2 driver, also I use it to pop the lid off a can of Old Bay Seasoning, and lots of other odd jobs for example.
I have a Micro Tech Tool from Bokerplus and although the design and blade is great - better steel than the Vic - I don't like using the scissors on it, even though they are sharp and there's no blade play, because both blades move together rather than just one on the Vic scissors so I find it awkward to use.
Tried lots of different alternatives but I always come back to Victorinox.

Yeah! The Vic can opener is an excellent inline Phillips, though this can opener was very easy to use when I had to. That's kinda how it goes with all of them though... Just kinda gotta get in the swing of it. Thanks for the insight! I'm def more of a Vic guy, but I'm gonna give this one a try for a good clip!

One not just get another Swiss Army knife, does main blade steel really matter that much. Also lots of people and military’s use victorinox steel, it must be ok . If a multi tool type knife is needed, I would get a victorinox sak

Yeah, that's kinda my feelings. I was excited to see what another company came up with, but Victorinox is the best around. I do really like the Micarta, though.

@@shkibby1 yes I know what you mean, but I’ve come full circle on the blade steel thing. Vics can be sharpened in a survival situation , corrosion resistant and generally the perfect pocket tool. I’ve heard hard steels can be brittle and if you chip one in the field? How do you sharpen it , also some rust easily
