"Look! I've got a bonsai!" - me (once I find one from the said grocery store haha) 😂. Great video, thanks! These weren't on my radar, but I like how random it appears! Need to build a shelf onto my south facing window! 🌞
Yeah they look so weird. lol. like the branches shouldn’t go with the trunk. lol. something completely different from all the vining and philodendrons I’ve got. hahaha
I got this plant as a gift that was bought at lowes. It’s in soil that I think will not dry out before root rot sets in. I notice yours is in bonsai soil. Did you replace the soil? What kind are you using? Did you struggle to get it to dry out before you changed up the soil? These plants are likely grown in so cal where regular potting soil works fine and using expensive mix that requires more water makes no sense, but it leaves a customer in northern latitudes in a bind.
my bonsai sitting in the corner, literally getting treated like a king: "Nah i think ill just drop all my leaves and start new branches in ugly spots!"
Hi, Michael! I bought one of these from Lowe's about 3 months ago and I'm so afraid to kill it. I have not overwatered at all. She had a few leaves fall off, but I have learned to not move her a lot and she is under a grow light. The trunks look similar to yours in the video. Cheers, planty friend!!
Depends on where you live. I’m in Massachusetts and mine would die without direct light. Many growers live in southern ca or Florida and forget that we might not.
Mine is almost 2 months old and drops up to 20-30 leafs a day sometimes. I was told the soil was a little too wet so I now make sure it is only ever so moist (not fully dry) so I just spray the soil with a bit water once a week or so so it doesn’t get too wet. Do you recommend I water this was or once dry properly water it with a watering can and let the water drain out? Cheers
Sir, my ficus ginseng leaves are getting lot of scales like a white powdery coat on many leaves that doesn't go without scratching from finger nails. Can u plz tell how to avoid it, is it common or not.(Im not using hard water though and not sprinkling on any leaves)
Is it possibly Scale? Like the bug? Are there little white armadillo-looking bugs on it? Because you can treat it with any insecticidal soap, and that should clear it up.
@@adarshss82 That’s very strange… it could be a form of fungus that’s growing on the leaves… what I’d do is spray the leaves down generously with water mixed with a little bit of dish soap, and then clean the leaves. See if it comes back, and if it does, but not as much, maybe do it again until it doesn’t come back, otherwise I’m not sure what it could be.

they are more self entitled than the French Monarchy were and we all know what happened to them.
@@michaeljohnhalse someone gets it.

Yeah, I’ve learned they drop leaves pretty easily, and during the winters I lose some foliage, but it always bounces back!
Him: “ keep it in direct sunlight”
The plant care card: “ no direct sunlight”
Me: WHICH ONE IS IT

Absolutely NO , direct sunlight. I keep mine close to the window, it gets bright light but not direct sunlight 😊
@@gracielahernandez2906I keep mine in the same conditions and it’s growing really nicely
My plant is doing well after following your advice. But the problem is the leaves are getting scales. Does it hurt the plant? How to clean it?
I learned so much thank you for explaining the soil.
You’re welcome! Glad I could help!
Cute bonsai. Thx for sharing ❤️
My bonsai has silver trim on one leaf 🍃
Love this! 💯
Great video! Looking forward to grow this bad boy!

Water it good then wait until the soil is dry and then water it good again, and repeat.
Put it in the window with sun and water less!
Yeah my mom bought one of these and is just letting it die... so I decided to save that baby and make it my own lmao 💀
I’ve had to do this with SO MANY of my mum’s plants, haha.
I almost killed mine. It has no leafs but a few at the bottom is coming out. But I want more at the top. No clue how to fix this issue
The only thing I can think of is pruning the top, that should stimulate it to grow more leaves and make it look bushier.
Very beautiful 👌 😍

@@michaeljohnhalse no bug. I've confirmed that its just scale buildup on the leaves' surface
@@adarshss82 Do you get water on the leaves when you water it? Or water directly into the soil?
@@michaeljohnhalse i water directly into the soil

Mine have moss at the bottom
Hay mikel
I just got one like this so this was helpful. I didn’t know it was toxic and prone to spider mites. Hope not to kill it. Lol
