i’m surprised you have a problem with the transmission in this car. we have N16 Nissan Sunny cars here. most however are the japanese spec ones made in japan and they are known to be indestructible(i think they’re the most common car here in kurdistan. due to reliability, they’re even more desirable than corollas since they are known to last as much while having way cheaper parts) and it simply is considered one of the best cars made here. maybe the car you have didn’t get serviced properly? because i know a lot of people with N16 sunnies and they all approve the reliability of this car. hell even we and 3 relatives of us own a nissan sunny n16. most taxis rock the qg15de with some qg16de engines that having been going for more than 650,000+ kilometers in our rough conditions. ours is a 5-speed manual transmission (brilliant transmission) and our relatives have the 4-speed auto which has been going pretty well thankfully.

This sentra was a much nicer car compared to the extrenely boring corolla model in its day. Sad how Renault ruined Nissans hard earned reputation for longevity. Pre 2000 nissans were as reliable as Toyotas, at least very close. But, the new 2021 sentra seems like a winner. All new Nissan models look beautifully styled and class competitive. I hope they can regain their reputation since that cost cutting rogue gosen is gone now.

It wasn’t much of a choice. If Renault didn’t take over, Nissan would have already died. Renault now lost a lot of money 💰.

@@Yeaxuelin_ that is because they focused only on short term profits. Initially Renault said nissan over spent on parts by 40% . They started to put timing belts , cheap plastic parts etc and went way too far with cost cutting. How can a company sustain profits without building a reputation for reliability. Initially Renault made huge profits from Nissan, but it gradually faded off due to quality issues that was due to gosens greed for short term profits. Nissan always had talent. In the early 90s they had a better line up than Toyota and new models under Japanese management look very promising . The new sentra is a huge success in USA .

I believe Almera is the replacement of this Sentra. It’s got 1L turbo and a CVT. Not sure how reliable it is.
