What offsets work for the Mitsubishi 3000GT?

  • UPDATE: The stock VR4 wheels in this video have the following spec engraved on the interior 18x8.5 46. If you are looking for the perfect fitment up front this is what I would go with in an 18. I don't think it looks as good in the back but nothing a spacer cannot fix.
    Whether you hate message board hunting or don't trust online photo galleries this video should streamline the process of finding the perfect fitment for your 3SX.
    If your impatient the stock vr4 wheel offset is perfect for upfront (unfortunately I do not know what it is) and somewhere between 24 and 30 is pretty flush in the rear.
    Enjoy my friends.

    All the info on make, model, diameter, width, and offset should all be on the inside if the oem wheel either on the spokes and/or mounting pad. Also the cutout spots on the te-37 is for weight savings.

    I think these 19's look the best on the 3kgt. 18's look good too but you need high profile tires to fill the wheelwell. These cars really have huge wheel wells, not only vertically, but across too so a bigger diameter helps to fill the empty space. Same thing applies to Supra's and other bigger "GT" cars. Looks great man.

      I think you'd be better off just slamming it as far as possible. I notice the tendency to try to fill the wheel well ends up with a car that looks like a tractor.

    -2 in the rear is good if you have -3.5 in the front (from a balance perspective) for this platform

    Man glad to see a video from you and knowing you're alive. 👍
    That 350z wheel made it look like a damn monster truck with that offset. The TE37 look way better with that offset. The stock wheels just looks blah.. to me.

    I got 18x9.5 +35, a lil poke but i don't mind it. Also running stock suspension so it's kinda wacky

    My fenders aren’t rolled and I don’t want to use a wheel spacer. What offset should I get for 18s?

    So would running different offsets for the rear but maintaining the same wheel width work? Like run the +44 up front with 5mm spacer but a +20 in the rear with no spacer, but both wheels are still 9/9.5.

    How do you feel about the 3000GT compared to the 986 Boxster?

    • @therealjessescheel
      @therealjessescheel  Год назад

      Sold them both. If I could get one back I’d take the boxster. The 3000GT is rare and quick but after that it’s a heavy car with a terrible crowd of owners.
      The boxster was not fast but super fun and agile in the corners. Community around them is a different class of people compared to the Japanese import stuff.

      @@therealjessescheel Thank you for taking the time to reply. Much obliged. I've had mostly Miatas and Porsches from the same era as your Boxster. The Miatas are really fun, however, they don't offer quite the same thrill.....and as you mentioned - quite different crowds. Looking forward to any new content you may have to offer.
