I focus on a dimple on the back of the golf ball, it just feels right for me.

I actually stare at the front of the ball and it prevents hitting fat shots

Started looking at a spot 6-8 inches behind ball during the swing....feels really weird at first since you don't see the ball at all during swing, but it eliminated by terrible slice and I actually started hitting a controlled draw....try it!!!

Not a fan of looking ahead of the ball, I believe it can lead to swaying laterally through impact instead of rotating around the left leg. Jack/Bobby Jones was right. What made Hogan the best wasn't a dimple on the ball that he was staring at. When playing well, and for me or anyone else that can go in the low 60s you aren't thinking of the ball at all, nor should you. It just gets in the way of the swing. Same thing about target fixation. When playing a tough hole with OB left and right golfers don't make their best swing. Why? Because they are thinking about things they can't control instead of things they can like I'm going to start the ball here and draw it a little. The terrain should never get in the space of your brain when you decide what shot to hit. Jackie Burke talked at length about this with Elkington. Hope this helps.

Thanks for viewing and the nice well thought out comment. I myself just never gave it much thought. I just look at the ball as a whole and don't fixate on it as I'm trying to swing out to my target and just pass through the ball. . Yeah this doesn’t help anyone because it’s stupid lol. Many tour players (which you are not lmao) look ahead of the ball or the idea of not looking at the ball at all but through the target line. This is very good for people on learning how to compress the ball, looking an extra inch should not cause you to sway, that is just stupid lol.
It’s fine to think about the shot and visualize it but that’s worthless if you can’t hit the ball correctly lol.
Good example of someone trying to sound smart who is not lol
      Good video though!

I actually look behind the ball. Like a line going from my back foot. Ala Anika Sorenstam
