Both are Pacific natives. Aborigines of Australia with deep roots and culture. Māori of New Zealand with theirs as well. Filled with power, pain, tears, blood. Both warrior culture.
We totally have a deep respect for the Aboriginal whānau in Australia like they have for us we are one and together we can strive hard love for our Aboriginal whānau ❤in Australia
This game was held in Rotorua, in the northern central area of the North Island of Aotearoa New Zealand. The Maori team therefore had a hometown advantage. FYI, Rotorua is in the center of the geothermal region, which featured in Stan Walker’s official “I am” video.
Kia Ora....I'd love for you to come to Aotearoa next year ....we have Matatini our Kapa Haka Festival...it runs for 2 days all Maori Kapa Haka groups perform from all the different Maori tribes you'll love it and Id personally host you and totally show you our culture first hand....i love the respect u have for us as a culture and ur totally on point with your reactions ❤😊🙏
When my kids have down time in class their go to is watching Kapa Haka vids. The passion they have gives me chills, it's beautiful. I'm confident that whatever the future brings them they will face it and do what is right. They're Kiwi kids.
Kia ora. Man just seeing your eyes and watching how the experience of seeing these two groups represent their cultures and countries is amazing. These are so beautiful and powerful that it doesn’t matter if you understand the languages or not. There is a part of us that it just resonates with down deep. Then if you do go as far as to learn what is said… it’s taken to an entirely different level. Aroha from the hills of West Virginia.
@@ComaToast1and you are going to show what looks like the Gisborne coast? You just flexing now. Lol, it is a great flex though. Hongi my friend from West Virginia to you.
Yep! "Haumi e, hui e, taiki e!" is a way to end a karakia (prayer/blessing) saying that everyone there is bound together. Sort of like "So say we all" or "Amen!" 🥝❤
If you watch the one from this years there is a Torres Strait Islander component in the war cry this time. Torres Strait Islander are the other indigenous peoples of Australia.
This little monologue here 9:05 had me laughing right out loud. It’s so true! Watching the Haka makes you feel like you could run through a wall, no problem. 😂 “I’d get wrecked…it wouldn’t even be kinda fun…I’d spend the rest of my days in just the most deplorable state a human could be in because I decided to go and play rugby…”😂 It’s a good thing you know how to talk yourself down off the ledge, man! Such a useful skill to have. Keep that skill. Hone that skill. Fine tune it. You’re gonna need it again when you go to New Zealand. By the way, side note…the background you have here is amazing. I like it!
I don't know what happens in Austrailia, but in New Zealand what I love is that it seems that everyone joins in. I have seen Rugby teams, school chldren, people at funerals, Moari, white, all hertiages come together to do this, it's so great it hasn't been lost, in fact for many people in the world NewZealand is represented by the Haka.

That was amazing. Personally I still think that seeing all the older generations and the new ones do the Haka at Lomu’s funeral. Kia ora btw. I would love to stand in the back of a marae and be invited to the front to say who I am. Probably gonna mispronounce my words. But just that whole atmosphere of respect.
