This variant would look way different with AUA# SUSU# and SUSUS#. Probably slightly more "balanced", makes the Us quite a bit better. Then again that's not exactly why we play these variants :) Love a wacky variant now and then, keep em coming
Happy Independence Day 🇺🇸🇩🇪 Have you tracked your overall record in these variant games? It seems like you win almost every single time, it makes sense that you would have an advantage in these games that the engine isn't built for but I still find it impressive how consistently you win. I can understand the ragequit 😀
Thanks! I haven't tracked it exactly, but I think your theory is spot on -- especially towards the end of these games, Quackle really starts to break down (quite literally, in this particular case). And since it doesn't adjust it's equity/static leave values, its early-game plays generally don't adjust well for the altered bag and/or board, and champ doesn't necessarily generate enough choices or sim well enough to counteract that.
I wonder if the crash has to do with the fact it was 1 in the bag, so Quackle tried to calculate endgame possibilities and broke when it realised both players were stuck.
With two blanks you could make SUSSUARANA, which is a name for puma, exclusively used in Brazil. It's certainly not a valid word, which is sad because is probably the longest word you could construct using only USA + 2 blanks.
Hey Mack, unrelated to this video, but idea/wish for a video: some practical tips for assessing drawing probabilities that come up a lot, like chance of drawing certain tiles, or at least two vowels, or missing the Q, etc. Maybe show the exact way to compute these, and a way to estimate. Or: do you know of other resources for this knowledge?
Unexpected twist at the end there! 😅 Incidentally Mack Meller, I have an interesting proposal for a future modified tile bag Scrabble game. I'm wondering whether you could do a modified tile bag Scrabble game that uses the exact same arrangement of premium squares, letter distribution, and point values of tiles as the popular computer word game Words with Friends, which is similar to Scrabble. I'm curious to see how your strategy of play will change on such a variant 😄
The SUS square broke me.
Sausages is almost possible with blanks
well it is possible, not almost
Maybe next year we can have a tile bag of only the letters in AMERICA, mm?
I love your pfp, i feel like i've seen it somewhere though
That would be a bit higher scoring I'd imagine! And likely not result in a double stick haha
Weird, lava usually flows to lower places, not straight to the top left corner
This game defied gravity!
Interestingly, the U's would be easier to deal with in Collins: AUA(S) and SUSU(S) are both good there.

It would be sacrilege to play the USA variant on the world dictionary
Shouldve turned all the bonus squares to either Triple Word (red), nothing (white), and Double letter (blue) to fit the theme as well!
Ah good idea, next time!
Josh to follow up with CANADA bag! Great video Mack!!!
That would be cool!
AA staircase is killing me😂

Thank you for naming this holiday instead of stupidly naming it July 4th.
You should have added USA* to the dictionary for this game :D
Also, play with a 6-tile rack and add USAUSA to the dictionary for a patriotic bingo

That's probably a more accurate (albeit less fun) explanation than Quackle ragequitting 😂

how rude of quackle smh
Interesting video. @Mack Meller Can you play a game where all but 3 tiles are blanks? The 3 scoring tiles would be something like EST or similar.
And don't forget to show a game of Clabbers at some point please.

HI MACK LOVE THE VIDS
Thanks!
INSANE 🦅
I laughed when I saw the SUS/SUSS rectangle
That crash was sus
Indeed!
This is the most sus video you’ve ever done
Haha :)
Unexpected twist at the end there! 😅

Why replicate a knock-off variant game when you can have the real thing?
@@rosiefay7283 I would like to see how Quackle performs on such a board, though.
At 6:24 why don't you play SUSS horizontally hooking AAS for the triple word score?
among us game
❤
saus is a dutch word tho
unfortunately AUA is collins only
Or, rather, unfortunately this game doesn't use Collins.
Your racks in this game were pretty ASSSSSS
