Oh, wow! My grandfather and on back, were coal miners in Wales and Pennsylvania, USA. They would of been thrilled to see such advancements, especially with safety! Sadly, my great uncle died in the coal mine ages ago.😢 Thank you for your video! John 3:16❤️

As a born and bred Novacastrian ( Newcastle - NSW - Australia)
I was proud to have worked in both the Newcastle Steel works (BHP) when young
and an underground coal mine when not so young.
Newcastle was and still is I believe, the worlds largest coal export port.
I know it doesn't mean shit in the scheme of things but I am glad to tick
those two boxes in my near sixty year old life.
These days, give me fresh air and outdoor work and no bloody shiftwork! ;-)
As interesting as this was to watch and remember the memories,
I can tell you it was not always happy families, crews and management.
Some really great blokes, funny and a pleasure to do a difficult job with
but a shitload of dead shits, lazy, incompetent and dumb as a box of hammers.
    Both above and below ground.

I remember my Great Grandfather telling me stories of being “Doon the pit” (down the mine) when I was a wee boy. He was a miner from Stoneyburn,West Lothian,Scotland.
Something I’ve always wanted to do is be a coal miner.Unfortunately coal mining in Scotland and the UK as a whole is an industry consigned to the past and is history in this country now. So sad.

That’s for the best. It’s dying here in the US too even tho there are entire towns in the center us dependent of coal mining. Coal is just too dirty for people and the environment. Newer energy sources are better and cleaner and necessary. Respect for those who did it in the past however. In 2015 coal powered 34 percent of us electricity. Now in 2021 it’s 19.3 percent. Another 5 years it’s probs gunna be around 10-12 percent. It’s a dying tech.

I would not be so sure about that. Renewable energy is the biggest con in world history. Europe taking notice of a teenager environmentalists, now has a fuel crisis. Britain who has 300years of reserves under it are in a fuel crisis. Last winter 28,000 people died because they could not pay their fuel bills.. 50 years and zillion of £ all the scientists have come up with is Windows and windmills. These have no chance of powering a country. Governments known this, still they keep handing out tax payers money without any check on it. Companies with their feet in the trough are making billions out of energy what is a useless type of energy. Even the scientists are making a fortune. Telling Governments what they want to hear. The consequences of this look at the Ukraine. Europe and now America are relying on Russia of fuel. Europe and America have put Russia in a powerful position. They do not take notice of teenagers or environmentalists. China the same. Both of these countries are laughing their prices off, because of our suicide mission
