No Nashville bullshit, no fasle and contrived conveyer belt crap. Just a great singer, a great song and a truly great artist. Dale Watson is the real thing, there is no doubt that he is indeed the saviour of traditional country music. Long may he continue to do for real, give us more more more!
country people always love to balance the scale here in eastern kentucky if some one hurt my child id bet my life they wouldnt make it through the trial my husband believes firmly in an eye for an eye this is a wonderful song with a real message to send
Wow, his voice reminds me of Johnny Cash! I don't think I've ever heard such a similar voice, it's pretty rare to find, because Johnny had a very deep, particular voice... Anyway, I like the song and I love that James Denton starred in that vid! Thanks for posting!
I'll tell you why Kenny Chesney and todays "uber Nashville stars" can't sing music like this today... they aren't fully grown men and can't reach the microphone!!! I've been listening to Dale for a dozen years or more. He's as real today as he was back then but he represents the same things that Johnny Cash, Waylon, Conway and those guys did back in their day... they can't be controlled and wouldn't be anyones puppets. Their music will live forever, Chesney and Co. WONT!!!
10 years later, the country we're hearing today makes Kenny Chesney, Tim McGraw, and the rest of the 90's crew sound like good country. Now, I'll admit that I like those guys (I'm 34 and grew up with Alan Jackson, Chesney, Garth, Brooks & Dunn ect), but I made sure not to call them "classic" out of respect. Their is a big difference between them and the previous generation. But the guys today...take out the steal guitar then send the song over to a boy band, you'd never know it was allegedly a country song.
Conveyer belt crap, good term, I usually go with junk food for the ears or popified country! No doubt DW is the real deal all real country fans have been craving for.
A wiser man would not have twisted the knife in his wife's heart and gone after the bastard that killed their child, only to end up jailed himself. Can't say that I blame him, though but the inmates where he does life will see to it that he doesn't enjoy it. Few things piss off inmates than someone who hurts a child.
i know man this is the original stuff what country is supposed to be like the legends that crap they play on the mainstream radio these days is absolute crap and isnt country at all
He didn't hurt a child though, he killed the man who killed his child. Just not sure what the rest of your comment meant after the you can't blame him meant.
Maybe in the real timeline of the video, the Dad didn't kill his child's murderer & the murderer isn't enjoying his life sentence as much as he'd thought that he would.

He is the savior of classic country!
I've known Dale a long time and he just keeps getting better. He's calling the music Ameripolitan, I just tell people it's Hard-Core Country...
2008. This video is among the oldest on RUclips.
I've seen the video on CMT or GAC in the late 90s.
This is the song that brought me to Dale.
I first heard Dale Watson's Good Luck, Good Trucking back in the early 90s.

Wow...this makes me cry.

true outlaw country right here bitches
real country none of that pop shit on the radio they call country these days
Like I said, the inmates where that guy who was on trial is presumably being held would have seen that he regrets every day.
The death of their child.....No one should have to live with that pain............
Is that John Cash Jr in the video?
The guy that shot the defendant is James Denton. An actor from TN.
It'd be just as good if no one saw the option his character took as the best one.
I think he was going for a Johnny Cash sound , I like it
Im not in to country too much (like it more than rap and pop though) but lol i laugh at people who call hannah montana country

Ol dale , pandering to his audience , and they eat it up , YEEEEEHAWWWWW
Is there something wrong with an entertainer singing what the fans like?
It usually results in hit records & money for the singer.
