Much respect people thanks for the support
Great interview and very well researched by the interviewer “don” himself “teach dem” I would have given him a 10/10 for research if he bought up the controversy regarding the live recording on Capitol Radio .. regarding the former uk prime minister Margert Thatcher..and certain lyrics that went out live on air .😉.. overall great and informative interview Tippa
Yes tippa irie saxon were the trendsetters of their time closely followed by java. You were my favourite sound systems from London
Great to meet u Tippa (serb scouser 😂). If u return we'll have a drink on me
Gwarn Tippa respect from Birminham.
Tippa ire one of the best to hold a microphone inna dance. Flowers are well deserved for all the hard work he has put into the dancehall scene
Yes Teacher, you finally get a UK artist on your show. Now you need to travel to the UK and find the rest of them. The UK have a big part to play in the history of dancehall. Big interview with Daddy Tippa.
no let dem come ja, for interviews.we need the £s a Yaad.
@@pmzphillips 😁😁
Interview the don gappy ranks
He interviewed dominic
@@killagun1154 with respect bredrin, Gappy Ranks is not a 90s artist. He doesn't have history in the sound system. Good yute still but not from back in da day.
This has taken me back to my youth. I feel like a old person now. 😂😂 Massive respect Tippa. It's good to have the old crew come out and share there life stories. This will give the younger generation a aim in life. 🙏🇯🇲💯
Tippa’s represented the U.K. for years, I have a lot of his tunes, Lloyd Brown, Roger Robin, Peter Hunningale had 12” singles on their own, flip the 12” over & Tippa would be in combination with the singer.
Tippa’s a humble guy & a major force here in the U.K.
Thank you Teach Dem.
U know that 🎤🔥🎤🔥👑
One of the best reggae artists to come out of the UK…big up Tippa
Come on 👍🏾
The Great Tippa Irie 🎤 one of the grandest MC to come out of the uk 🇬🇧
Teach Dem

The great Tippa Irie one of the greatest reggae mc, toaster, riddim rider, however you want to state it. Truly one of the greatest of all time
Jah bless
Bwoy Teach..you are a real doops. Great work. Again. This artiste was my Dan as a London yute. I was there in the dance at Peoples Club when Blacka said to Tippa 'can't come back to Brixton' and Trevor Sax said ' you can't tell the man dat'. But a my cousin Smiley keep the biggest Saxon dance in West London at a place called Priory..Tippa Irie.Wicked wicked wicked DJ. Good job Teach Dem💪🏿👊🏾
Back in the 80s Saxon cassette was like gold dust.
First time I've heard about this artist. His flow is timeless. I became fans of a lot of artists because of this channel.
I love that you've invited Tippa Irie to share the Jamaican-British experience. The Jamaican-British culture has given birth to so many other genres (Punk, Drum n Bass, Dub-step, Jungle ect.)
And grime.
I am in my sixties, grew up with Roots , immigrated 33 yrs ago this July & ran the Jungle Night club with my wife & partner . Mikey Dread was our very first Reggae act. He was so nice & humble .
Big Respect to Tippa Irie - he is a fount of knowledge and it’s so important to capture the UK contribution to the reggae and broader musical landscape.
Mr Henry was reeling off memories of my younger years, supporting the rise of Saxon Sound Studio, other talented Giants from the south London stable. He honoured so many artists - it’s evident he “walks good”.
Phenomenal interview and a really nice man.
Thank you, as always, Teach Dem💥💥💥👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾
living good tippa ,you & smily culture reached me at a very early age didint no what i was hearing but needed more ,this white uk boy 8yrs old ,but realy i was rasta just needed to follow the sound vibration now im 51 ,blessings tippa irie i /we thank you ❤💛💚
I grew up with Tippa. His parents had a shop on the corner of Eastlake Road and Flaxman Road. My parents use to send me to his parents shop to buy yam, banana, plantain etc etc etc. I remember the paraffin heater and I remember Mr & Mrs Henry (RIP). Avril (Miss Ire) was so cool. We use to joke every time I came into the shop and big sister Jackie. Marcus Lipton, Angel Town adventure playground was the foundation. We grew up with people like Freddy Daily, Ralph, Tony, Richard, Courtney, Dennis & Shirley Oliver who also lived on Eastlake Road. Then we had Derek (General Slater), Peter Victor, Winnie, Micheal & Carlton McCloud, Diseases (Richard), Roger Lindo, Patrick Lindo to name but a few superstars for the area. We are proud of Tony and his success and watching this video takes me right down memory lane. One of the best toasters to come out of the UK. Big respect ✊🏾
Yes Teacha ah another Gem, I thought Tippa was born in Jamaica! He is still a Jamaican anyway...this man man is a legend in the place of reggae music..that's why we need a reggae museum..

Awesome interview. It just seems like yesterday when Saxon clashed with Volcano in Harlesden and when Tippa touched the mic 🎤 he was on another level and then fast forward to a couple of years ago we met again at Jazz Cafe in London. The amount of work and body of work is impressive and you still have amazing timing and delivery and to top it all of you are a Gooner so massive respect my brother. It's good to have the feeling you're the best 👌
Yasss Tippa Irie.
UK Dancehall DJ treasure. 🙌🏾
YOU OF TO GET PAPA LEVI, ON YOUR PLATFORM, CAN'T STOP IT HERE.
I tell my kids about the influence of Saxon Sound the lyrics structures they listen to now originated in London in the 80s, Coughing up fire the live saxon album changed the game when I ws 13 yrs old that cassette was passed around for months at school ,I managed to see them before the transition to dubs then again when they reamerged as a clash sound when they nearly demolished handsworth leisure centre with their bass in the 92 UK cup Clash...tippa ws our hero next to Levi he ws the Best even the clothes he wore influenced the bigga man dem, salute to you Sir Tippa Irie the greatest UK M.C /DJ..and respec to Teach dem we've waited 40yrs for dis ya tory ya ...manners
I was in london early 80s and brought the saxon album then took it back with me to new york, the people went crazy for this new fast style they never heard before,we burned 🔥 it on cassette,it traveled from brooklyn to the bronx then i was hearing about it in queens, thats what influenced rappers in new york to start to rap fast style, rappers like das efx eventually buster rhymes, nobody knows this story but i witnessed it unfold in new york in the 80s
Bless Up the great legendary lyricist /M.Cee Tippa Irie 🙏🏾🆙
The great Daddy Tip one of the UK most talented Dj with Macka B and Mikey Tuff from Wassifa Sound in Birmingham. When it comes to the business part of the music, Tippa have it lock from start which make a big difference with a lot of his colleagues in England… Chabba Youth the owner of Stereograph Sound from Brixton was also the selector for Soferno B. He left England in 1983 to go back to Jamaica (Mandeville) and build the legendary Destiny Outernational Sound with his step brother Copper. I don’t think he was involved with Exodus but what I can say is that Destiny created history with Everton Blender, Tony Rebel, Garnet Silk, Uton Green, Yasus Afari, Kulcha Knox and Frankie Wilmott
Yes your tottaly correct but to be more spacific Destiny sound was from Comfort whee
Love his music & style, wish I knew he was on the JamRock, makes me wonder how many legends I have passed on the ship & not know who they are since my wife & I have been going on board since 2015. Incredible story.
We grow up with his music in the Gambia 🇬🇲 Great man

Yow people, unu fi know seh a Saxon studio change the whole style of lyrics Ina dance hall. Speed rapping for instance. I saw them in session at Lewisham in 1984
