- Hello, friends! Please join me today as I tackle some spring-cleaning chores and bake a batch of super-delicious cookies. Recipe and links are below!
Cashew Butter Cookies
Ingredients for about a dozen cookies
1 large egg
1 teaspoon baking soda
1/3 cup Demarara sugar (78g)
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup pure, unsalted cashew butter
In a medium bowl, whisk together the egg, baking soda, sugar, and salt. Add the cashew butter and stir with a stout spoon until the dough becomes quite stiff -- about 1 minute. Refrigerate the dough for 30 minutes.
Break off small clumps of dough and form them into balls the size of cherry tomatoes. Lay the balls about 2 inches apart on a parchment-lined baking sheet. Use your fingers to lightly flatten the balls. Put the baking sheet in the refrigerator or freezer while you preheat the oven to 350F or 180C.
Bake until cracks form in the tops of the cookies -- 10-15 minutes. Let cool on the baking sheet for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. The cookies will form up as they achieve room temperature.

We purchased the two 19th-century chairs at auction in New Orleans. They were already upholstered. My best advice is to take a screenshot of the chairs, and bring the picture to a fabric dealer. Hope you can find a similar fabric!

Yes unfortunately this is what happens. We must enjoy all of our treasures. I kept my mom's precious antiques. However not everyone appreciates such articles.

💚💔💚 Much sympathy and a warm hug. I had a dear neighbor who lost both parents unexpectedly within six months. They'd been antique dealers & she their only child. She was overwhelmed by grief and so many decisions. Lost all her spark & characteristic energy. It was unnerving to see. Then she decided to take the grief counseling offered by the funeral home. Within a few months, she was back to herself & had sorted her parents antique furniture & household. (She incorporated a few pieces that she loved into her home. The rest went on.) What a relief to see her return to life ... and a lesson I never forgot. Grief support groups are places of healing. 💚

Can I just thank you for your beautiful and peaceful videos? My husband and I moved across the state to take care of my mother. Our house hasn’t sold due to interest rates they tell us. We have been living with our oldest sons family in their spare room with our cat. I long for a place of my own. A place where I can putter and clean and plant. I, too, garden, plant vegetable and flower seeds, add new azalea and hydrangea bushes to my yard each year, and have various fruit trees plus blueberries, blackberries, and figs. I freeze and can my peaches, pears, apricots, and apples. I am still trying to get my cherry trees to produce. My house is over 100 years old with high ceilings, transome windows over all of the interior doors with brass fittings, hand carved oak doorknobs, heavy solid woodwork, beautiful built-ins, beautiful heart pine floors, a substantial wraparound porch, views of the Blue Ridge mountains, and much more. My husband and I are both from New York but now live in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Virginia. I connect with all that you do, and I cherish your videos.

Those cashew cookies are a way for an older person with sensitive teeth issues to enjoy nuts ... I buy a ground , walnut shortbread cookie - half dipped in chocolate. Now I will make yours with cashews & enjoy them too !

I know a lot of people could not be bothered with silverware, claiming it's a lot of work. . . however, with the effort put into a good polish, the end result continues to give back.

Well, I started the seeds of cilantro also. I guess you can say I am nuts but I started my seeds on empty egg shells (I was very careful every time I cracked an egg to make sure I had equal halfs) put them inside the egg carton, added my seed an spray gently with water😊 Eggs shells have extra vitamins.
Speaking of water, you got so excited with the cookies that you forgot to tell us how you water the seeds.😅

Spring cleaning this year has taken an all new high input we’re doing because we have gotten rid of so many things we are downsizing we are simplifying and we are making everything as organized as possible! Not a complete minimalist, but minimizing to allow for our home to remain very neat, tidy and organized!

It was so adorable seeing Gloria investigate the silver ice urn. I will remember to cool down the chocolate when decorating the cookies. That's a good tip. I am the type of person who would decorate while the chocolate is hot, fearing it would clump up, but now I know to let it cool. I enjoyed watching you doing the seeding.
