Delmag pile hammer, mouton diesel

Le Delmag est un "mouton" qui sert à enfoncer des pieux ou des palplanches. Celui qui est présenté en action est un D30, il pèse environ huit tonnes mesure 5m de hauteur c'est un moteur diésel monopiston de diamètre 500 ... il est soutenu par une grue . Ici à Villy le Pelloux sur les travaux de L'A41 en décembre 2006

We had a 25-32 D-Mag at a site that really didn't need it. It had a massive underground cavern/lake system not 40 feet under us. They would cycle the hammer, the piling would sink like 5-8 feet and the hammer could not keep up and stop. The crane could barely hold the assembly up so it was hazardous work. Another site we used a gravity hammer and we would beat on pilings all day long and not reach bearing. We stopped, got a D-Mag out there and started wailing away, making bearing easy
