On mariners pitching, Kirby or Gilbert going to cost 2x-3x as much whatever was paid for crochet (under control and arguably better and more reliable/proven than crochet). Luis Castillo’s contract is a huge bargain in today’s market and instantly would be the Red Sox best pitcher just based off the last 3 seasons. Unlikely anything gets done, if something did, it’d be Casas + something for Castillo + something.
Im kinda surprised by bregman, the Astros only offering 156 for 6 years, 26 milion AAV. Bregman has won multiple world series, proven leader and came off a good year for free agency. I would have thought Bregman would be a target for the NyY, i could see Detroit signing him if his market doesn't develop. I dont see Bregman back with Astros, i get the feel of some kind hurt feelings going on there.
Would you rather pay 65mil to a pitcher that is worth 60mil over 3 years Or would you rather pay 250mil to a pitcher worth 180mil over 8 years? That's why Castillo has a lot of value, at least more than what you think
Exactly. Sox dont want to pay big money at the end of contracts to pitchers, especially after the age of 36... there arent many Verlanders around but that Max Sherzer deal is awful.
I’m not understanding what you’re arguing here. Castillo’s value is what it is because of what he’s getting paid. Pointing out the difference in the contracts you presented doesn’t matter lol
@rhyde well yeah it doesn't, but I think his point is, like my own belief, is id rather have Castillo until hes about 35-36 instead of paying guys into their late 30's at 25-30MIL.
@rhyde how do you not understand lol. It's simple, really, every pitcher in free agency is getting overpaid for the late years of their careers. Castillo is still only 32 and a very good pitcher. You don't have to overpay him for him to choose you cuz let's be honest, it ain't happening. So being able to get him for 3 years in his mid 30s under a reasonable and arguably friendly contract has value.
The Astros won't trade Tucker, when Tucker leaves in free agency the Astros will give him the QO. Tucker will get over 350 million dollar contract, the Astros will get two numbers 1 draft picks for losing Tucker. The Astros will want two top prospects and a controllable MLB player in any trade for Tucker.
Hey Robbie, I’ve heard rumors that padres are shopping Boegarts now too. I doubt anyone is going to trade for him, but would you do a swap with Red Sox. yoshida for Boegarts?

Crane doesn’t do long term contracts
Burnes has said he is after a payday in free agency in the past, i would not be surprised if the Mets offer burnes 250 million dollar contract.
He hasn’t said that lol

Bro they are trading Tucker they can’t afford him
You don't trade Casas for Castillo. I don't think that will happen.
We still need bueller and Santander then we got what we came for.
Would love to see Boston grab Burnes. Can't imagine that King Henry will open up the check book for him though.
Phillies could move Nick to LF and put Tucker in RF

The Red Sox suck
Get ready to learn pig buddy
Well they learned from your mama
I’m a tigers fan but Red Sox may win 90 games
