      @@MikeGoodrich He did a live stream responding to two vocal coaches responding to that video. His principal reaction (other than embarrassment) was how old the clips were. It is very funny, though, listening to him telling his twitch followers about the background regarding the performances. Look it up after you hear it.

    Brendon has said except for a couple of vocal lessons from his stint on Broadway, ( and a couple before he went on his first tour) he really doesn’t know “how” he is able to sing like he does. He just does what feels right. You can definitely tell the difference from when he first started and now. He has said he wanted to sing like everyone else in the beginning and now he’s happy just sounding like himself. He calls his vibrato-his goat vibrato. He wanted to sing like Gwen Stefani when he first stared and after awhile it was just there.

    • @MikeGoodrich
      @MikeGoodrich  4 года назад +18

      Hey thanks for the insight, I didn't know that. Glad he stuck with sounding like himself! That's a pretty darn good vibrato for him to call it a "goat" vibrato...haha Sounds great to me. Thanks for the comment!

    • @pepperby
      @pepperby 4 года назад +12

      Mike Goodrich This song definitely isn’t an example of the “goat vibrato” but it you listen to some of his other stuff you may notice that it’s significantly faster. It became a more natural vibrato after he did Broadway.

      Mike Goodrich I went back to find one, and after listening again I think the fast vibrato is just a stylistic choice. He adds it to very short notes, but on more sustained notes his vibrato still “spins” as you say. ruclips.net/video/kKuVdB_7GAs/видео.html

    Thank you for this, this was an amazing "reaction", super informative & I've got to agree the reason I adore Bs singing is because of the vowels that are crystal clear & because when he sings you hear the words he sings, they aren't mumbled & keep you guessing wtf the lyrics are. He sings so clearly, pronounciating every word. Also if this song blew your mind, then let me tell you B also does metal screams (he wrote a metal song you can find it on youtube) & the song "death of a bachelor" is more Frank Sinatra crooner style song. So Brendon goes from metal screaming to singing Celine Dion (he sang Ashes) to this kinda song & to crooners. This man blows my mind every time he opens his mouth and sings. I love his voice so much there are no words!

    What's really insane is that Brendan joined Panic! At the Disco as a rythm guitarist, and not a vocalist.
    One day at band practice however, the original vocalist was feeling ill and decided to stay home, and Brendan, knowing all the words for their songs stepped up to fill in for him for the practice session. Needless to say the other band mates were blown away by his voice and he quickly took over the position as lead vocalist to all of our benefit

So many of these videos turn into "well if iiii was his coach..." and I would love to see your breakdown/reaction to a video that showcases how his voice has changed and matured over time. He is even more incredible in person! He tends to take more vocal risks live than in studio recordings. I've seen him live innumerable times, both with his band and when he was on broadway and he always blows me away. The only "Bohemian Rhapsody" cover I've ever heard in my life that didn't make me want to die was the version Brendon Urie did with P!atd live in Philadelphia several years ago. I didn't think it was possible and was so nervous when I heard the opening notes, but he totally floored me.

    I really love his version more than Idina's. Because with his performance the song became more cathartic and the variation from "my power" to "your power" changed the intentions about the main character about how to interact with "the voice". I've heard a spare few vocal coaches and music instructors react to this version of the song but this particular video was the more detailed in his explanation (and I appreciate not doing the whole 'if it were me' or 'if i were teaching it' stuff cause, honestly, nothing a teacher says about how they'd have done things will change the fact this guy is already famous for his singing chops and it gets tiring to listen to, so thanks for not doing that here!!) and just very well spoken. I like seeing people get excited about seeing stuff like this and then excited about teaching or sharing their knowledge about it. It's what SHOULD make education (and school) fun, but it often times is not.

You want to blend your chest with your head making it sound like one long note. I practice at least 2-4hrs a day 5-6 days a week. I love singing. I learned it for fun and now I'm getting back into guitar. My singing surpassed my guitar skills which I thought would never happen lol.

    You need to listen to Dimash Kudaibergen singing SOS. I love Brendon Urie to, but your hair will be blown back when you hear Dimash.

      Rosannasfriend, guess what! I just finished editing? My next video reacting to Dimash! But since so many have done SOS, I decided to do Ogni Pietra Olimpico! Have you heard that one? Unbelievable! Thanks so much for your comment and for listening!!

    You should check out and break down his cover of Bohemian Rhapsody from the Death of a Bachelor tour

    I love Brendon Urie but Dimash Kudaibergen is the King of Vocals. Every performance brings a new music experience like none other.
    SOS - Ogni Pietra - Love is like a dream - Sinful passion - Diva dance - are the top 5 😉

    I'd love If you could react to the RUclips singers caleb hyles and Jonathan young they're both amazing and have some brilliant videos.
    And voiceplay, especially they're queen video, daddy sang base and boy bands.

    Brendon is actually a really Dramatic lyric baritone and not a tenor which makes this even more crazy

      He’s been on an extended vacation since their last tour ended and then the song came out. It will probably not be performed most likely till the next tour and even then maybe they won’t do it. He says he’s not working on an album so it will probably be a long time.

    I was subscribed to about 20 voice teachers/voice coaches, and recently unsubscribe from all of them. I just got to a point where it was much in terms of notifications, and I have learned a lot not to need them as much as I was needing them before. A lot of the same things to tend to get repeated After you've been watching for a while. But I like your stuff enough to subscribe to you and support your channel . You're lucky, LOL.

    You’re using that microphone wrong. That looks like a Blue yeti and it is a side address microphone, not an end address microphone.
