I love pattern drafting ❤
Comment below if you enjoyed this tutorial! What would you like to learn next?
OK, here's another thing I've wondered about. Let's say you have a pattern for a flat pouch and you want to make it 3D by adding a gusset. How would you draft the gusset piece? TIA.
Interesting idea. So you don't want to use boxed corners, but instead a separate gusset piece?
@@allsewpetite Yes exactly. Love the box-corner tutorial -- I've used it already with success. But let's say you want a gusset for a pouch with rounded corners. What's the math you'd use to figure out the length?
Oh that is fantastic to hear! So happy my tutorial was helpful 😊
Going back to the pouch, there are different ways you could add a gusset. Do you prefer angled gusset, so you would have a flat zipper at the top, more triangular sides and wider base? Or do you prefer a gusset which has the same width throughout?
@@allsewpetite I'm interested in all, of course! 🙂
Can't wait to try this, thank you for a fabulous tutorial
My pleasure! Let me know how it went 😊
I love these types of videos! Thanks for teaching me how to make this pocket. I always learn so much from your tutorials.
You are so welcome! I'm so happy you like them. If you are interested in pattern drafting, I am working on a 7 weeks bag design programme which you may like 😉
Thanks so much for sharing these tips. I love making alterations to patterns, and these videos on altering bag patterns are EXCELLENT!
That's so wonderful to hear 😊 your feedback makes me really happy. If you have any other ideas or you wonder how to amend something feel free to let me know and I'll try to make a video for you 😉
@@allsewpetite A big one for me is adding a recessed zipper to a pattern that's either open, or closes with just a snap. And also how to change the dimensions of a recessed zipper panel when you change the depth of your box corners, as you showed us how to do in a previous video. Hope that makes sense!
yeah, that can be a bit confusing. There are different ways to make recessed zipper, which one do you have in mind? Fully enclosed zipper or the zipper with open ends?
@@allsewpetite Open zipper ends
Noted. I will add it to my to do list 🙂
