  • ‘This is not a show.’ Nick Knight and Gareth Pugh offer an exclusive visual insight into Pugh’s S/S 18 collection presented here as fashion film. In collaboration with philosophical artist Olivier de Sagazan, Pugh explores the extremities offered by the elements and the raw physicality of humanity.

Wow, very impressive, slightly disturbing but beautiful piece. Props to everyone involved. It's always exciting getting to experience a collection through different mediums. Just shows how many layers there are to a single piece of art.

After seeing Gareth Pugh's work at the Balenciaga expo at the V&A this year and then meeting the designer just recently at a talk with Lou Stoppard also at the V&A, I just wanted to find out more. This fashion film is dramatic in the most abstract way and in someways scary. It reminds me of a book I read as a student, Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka, the transformations are nearly catastrophic but from this chaos is the birth of beauty and creation.

Great concept..well executed. Both organic and graphic....perfect for Gareth's creations and Nick's masterful technique (I particularly liked the laser sequences)...I hope ppl watch until the end...the bar in fashion moving imagery has just been raised.

    HERE:
Olivier de Sagazan has developed a hybrid practice that integrates paintings, sculptures and performances . In his existential performative series Transfiguration, he builds layers of clay and paint on his own face to transform disfigure and take apart his own figure, revealing an animalistic human who is seeking to understand his real nature . At once disquieting and deeply moving, this new body of work collapses the boundaries between the physical, animalistic and spiritual senses. As he says: Men living in a mask of collective hallucination. One day, I arrive in the world, totally lost, on another day, I leave in a stupor. Art can be a knife to open this mask and delve into the strangeness of being HERE, NOW . "

Mud, is fashion. Things that are happening in the head of the designer and his workers. We see a pregnant women, made from this mood. Designer is destroying/taking a child. Later we see the effects. Pure art. But you need to think. Most of people, don't like to think.

And here we are watching as the USA struggles against being saved from tyranny. A skirmish of epic proportion. This is not a quiet exercise between good and evil. This art film this film of art powerfully ( still ) relevant bc fashion can/does expose the societal underbelly. I'd like to see more of the clothes fr this time.

I love your artwork. I am a Mensa + 308, artist. The speed of light is not connecting the the audiences eyes capabilities, so it causes anxiety and fragmentation inside of the mind, slow the quick frames down a tad, all of you watch it.... be present with your and minds feelings, if you feel a tad uncomfortable watching it the frames are too quick, and the entire population misses our on the beauty of your work. :) Go back and slow one down, compare that's all it is. you don't see if because your more sensitive to light then others. ( which is a form of over excitability capabilities) and your imagination (grin) GOD SPEED.
