- We speak about the three eras of the “New Right”: from William F. Buckley and James Burnham to the second “New Right” under Reagan and Thatcher and now the third “New Right” that is taking shape in the wake of the populist revolutions of Trump and Brexit. We also speak about immigration, liberalism as a self-liquefying force, Thatcher’s legacy, Brexit, Orban, and much more.
John O’Sullivan is a political commentator and journalist. He was the senior policy writer and speechwriter in 10 Downing Street for Margaret Thatcher when she was British prime minister. He is also the former editor of National Review in the years 1988-1997 and is now an editor at large. Since 2017, he has been president of the Danube Institute in Budapest. - Развлечения
All I can think listening to people like this is how long they’ve been around and how little they’ve accomplished.
Is that truly 'all [you] can think'? Given your limitations, you did well to draw a conclusion at all.
@@trevorbailey1486 What value does this coffin dodging boomer provide? He thinks Konstantin Kisin is a great thinker
Fascinating gent.
great stuff
New right? Brody is like 80 y.o.
Rather than making a New Right every 50 years, why dont we just bring back the Old Right. That way it's easier to keep track of.
See my book St George and the Dragons:The Making of English Identity.
Embarrassing stuff. Konstantin Kisin a subversive thinker? Do me a favour
O’Sullivan has nothing to offer us.
He's very much on the other side of the F/E distinction
Aaaand here come the antibodies to ‘engage’ lol
Typical of what is wrong with Conservatism. Good on Alex for pointing out some of the problems with simply being against rapid change, but without a positive vision/program. Conservatism is NOT a political philosophy. It is an attitude towards change. The correct political philosophy that accords with the Natural Law is Liberalism (in the classical sense of the term). What we should be trying to conserve is Liberalism, as the Founding Fathers intended.
I understand that it is delicate business being friendly to your guest while opposing their views...you do oppose his views, don't you, Alex?
It appears this one really good podcast has become a subpar normiecon podcast now. It is truly disappointing, but it's in the nature of women to fail to resist entropy, which is why they should not be placed in position of authority and responsibility. SAD!
yeah the last two guests have been shockingly bad
