Remember guys, the gilas program is a continuous dream.. hindi tayo magiging top contender agad sa world stage,. That's the reality. But you have to give kudos to the program, may batang gilas pa tayo for sustainable development of talents. Stop insulting the players kapag talo sila. Insulting them doesn't make you a better human being. It just reflects how an arrogant asshole you are.

Pero gayumpaman, nag kulang pa din tayo sa tune ups. Kung si coach Tab yan or si coach chot hindi sila papayag na walang katune up na similar ung style example taga Europe. Kaya yan ang nangyare nag prepare nga tayong mabuti kontra Italy, nag scout pa daw ng mabuti pero mukhang tayo ang nabigla. Parang ang dating eto palang ung tune up naten sakanila.

The bottomline is we lost as expected but the future is bright with the Gilas program. We weren't even supposed to be there but we did it twice and proved we belong in the world stage. Kudos to Gilas!
Who's excited for the Japan and Czech republic match? Hachimura and Watanabe could do some real damage out there. Medyo biased ako sa Japan kase asian team and they have a chance to beat a european team for the first time.

@@panchodelacruz5695 Yes the 2014 squad was quite impressive but I'd say the 1954 squad who finished bronze was argueably the best since they accomplished more. Since then, it took merely 3 decades before we even qualified in 2014 and the 2nd consecutive time this year.
By the way, the Gilas program started in 2009 with the hope of continously improving our squad for generational talents that would be competitive in the world stage. Pumasok tayo sa 32 out of 213 countries na naglaban para magqualify! To simply put it, we are among the best 32 teams in the world! Downfall? That would be an overstatement. If anything, it's a step towards the right direction.

@@spragong Kaya nga nagpeprepare tayo ng line up na MAS matangkad sa 2023. Pero holistic din kasi yan, hindi lang sa practice. Dapat yung PBA ay magpatupad ng mga rules na magfoforce sa atin to adopt playing systems na katulad sa Europe. Ang ginagaya kasi natin ay NBA (isolation plays); gagana lang yung kung kasing tangkad at athletic natin sila.
