Peter Baumann (born 29 January 1953) formed the core line-up of the pioneering German electronic group Tangerine Dream with Edgar Froese and Christopher Franke in 1971. Baumann composed his first solo album in 1976, while still touring with the band, and embarked on a solo career in 1977. Since the early 2000s, Baumann has devoted his time to studying and promoting initiatives in science and philosophy that shed light on the human condition. Since 2009 he is head of the Baumann Institute, "dedicated to exploring the nature of awareness and its relationship to human health and well-being.” As of June 2015 Peter Baumann officially rejoined Tangerine Dream after working on sketches for Quantum Key and Quantum Gate with the late Edgar Froese. He left the band again in December, 2015.

Wow. This is such a great album and a wonderful return to Peter's early form - Romance 76 and Transharmonic Nights. I saw this on YT and was a little hesitant to click on it because I'd been pretty unhappy with the dance music albums PB did in the early 80s. This is so great I'm almost speechless. It even sounds like PB has resurrected his old gear - the string sounds are straight off Romance, and the sequencer sounds like the old Arp and Project Electronic gear that TD used in the 1970s. Peter, if you're reading this Ich wolle sprechen zu Sie: Sehr gut!!! Danke, mein Herr!

Wow this is great! I'm glad I did a search. I saw Tangerine Dream the first time they played in Los Angeles. It was at the Santa Monica Civic in 1977. Long live electronic prog! Cheers!

Fantastic comeback from Peter Baumann. Maybe not as strong as Romance '76 but very-very thought-provoking album. Thanks for the upload. (And I'm green with envy for this LP ;-) I preordered the CD in spring but the LP looks awesome [not to mention about the sounding].)
Thanks to share the music. I'm still traing to discern in each work from each member of Tangerine Dream best albums under the Virgin label, the personal cotribution of Froese, and Franke, and Bauman...

This is lovely! I have listened to electronic progressive since 1984. I do not remember when I caught "Repeat Repeat" (1981) by this same man. ;D But I am really impressed and astonished by Peter Baumann to have the guts to pick up real electronic progressive in 2016 again! Cool! Anyone who knows about the instrumentation? Old skool synthezisers or matrix ones?

First track also reminds me of a track called Gypsy from Arthur Brown's Kingdom Come, back in the 70 s. A retro sounding album for sure , in the early Tangerine Dream mode.
I definitely believe the last track had to be longer. It´s amazing and could be extended much longer.

Congratulations Peter, you did it again! I can't believe you did...'cause I had lost hope in you. I've been asking myself how, just how, can the master of Romance 76, come to silence after releases that were worth much less. What happened to you, how come you had lost that vivid imagination and intense introspection fed by powerful evocative and meaningful energy? Romance 76 was and still is an outstanding album within electronic's music first generation. My absolute #1. No TD, no Kraftwerk, no EF, no KS, no one, got close to the PB of Romance 76. But now, here you come along with an incredible album..I am touched!

Fantastic album! So is Peter making his way back into the music scene?
He silently built a studio in USA and was preparing for a comeback. Let's hope he will continue. The better times finally came for many musicians of the past to come back, especially through so generous serious labels as Bureau B and Esoteric Reactive.
Did he abandon his business by golf course resorts for the rich? Beautiful vinyl. Since it's 500 copies limited it naturally is sold out by now, so I'll have to do without this album. It's not as good as Romance '76 anyway. But he does use good sources for it.
You can buy second hand copy, many buyers nowadays doesn't have turntables and buy just for soul. And then they decide to sell it and in fact this is unplayed copy. Many buy for resale. Black edition is not so limited and is available for much lower price.

Ele foi muito importante no TD nos anos 1970, na minha opinião o período de 70 e 80 foi o ápice da banda.
Eu seria um pouco mais específico, pra mim o melhor período da banda foi de 70 até 77. Maior banda da história da música na minha opinião.

Flac has ZERO affect on RUclips playback capabilities (max 128 kbs) or end source sound fidelity. If you buy vinyl from a quality label like Bureau B , use a TT set-up (real arm/real MM/MC cartridge & table) that isn't designed to DESTROY your records like the garbage Sony rig above. Yikes. + NEVER buy colored vinyl (noisier, more brittle, less longevity) IF the release is alternately available in black vinyl, like the above Baumann disc..
You're not right about zero effect of FLAC. As long as RUclips converts into some lossy format, lossless source will give the best possible quality of final result. RUclips recommends to use bitrate of 384 kbps for stereo audio source. Then after conversion, depending on the supported container format in a browser, user gets MP4 with AAC audio at ~128 kbps VBR or instead open WebM with Opus audio at 160 kbps VBR, the later is transparent at this bitrate. This effect is maybe not critical for most of the listeners as RUclips is not positioned as Hi-Fi resource, but this is just our "marketing" and a way of doing things. We prefer to avoid any unwanted loss in quality.
We don't endorse technical audiophile polemics on our channel. Response for a similar recommendation about turntable was already given in another video. But truthful information about vinyl color may be of some interest to curious people. Color of vinyl doesn't correspond to it's quality in any way. The reason is simple - plate material (PVC) is a clear transparent plastic mass inherently. It is colored with a color dye during production. There's some speculation about carbon black dye used for production of standard black vinyl that it may soften the noise in some way or make a plate more durable. Specialist forums are skeptical about this information. At same time picture vinyl is a different story - they are crap in most cases, just a collector's item. This is because of a more dirty production process and foreign materials that get into vinyl mass. There are even good picture vinyls exist. The factor that may indirectly affect the quality statistics of colored vinyl is that it is often made colored "just for fun", material used may be not as clean as it can be, but this is also just an assumption of the prevalence of prejudice. There's also an opinion that the best sound should be on clear vinyl, because it doesn't contain inclusions of any dye at all. The use of recycled PVC during production of material for plates makes sound worse independently of color. So we can say for sure that vinyl color selection recommendation should not be considered a worthy one.
Baumann's music is just too contemporary sounding to me, not etheric enough. Good for a B grade movie. Man, your still using a record player!

The format has nothing to do with my musical preferences, and I prefer CD over vinyl, it's clearer and more convenient, no loss in detectable audio quality. I would like to just have everything in MP3.
Of course not (format - musical preferences). I would not like to feed the people who listen to mp3's (already an erormous loss in quality with the 1:11 compression, compare the reverb on a snare for example, in mp3-format, a part of it is simply LOST) on cheap pc speakers . That has nothing to do with listening to music anymore, no matter what style.
It's not the format or quality, it's the style. I just don't really care for his music!
