Imagine trying to put all these high-quality mods into one massive timeline.
I've always wished that the RTSL "villes" would have done something like that. Rather than having their "Epistle 3 ville," they could have just broken Epistle 3 into several different "ville" competitions with the participants using the same start and end "loading chambers" between them. Then they could have chosen the best map for that part of the story and put them all together. BOOM, community open sourced HL2 ep3.
I’ve always liked to think of them being alternate timelines or dimensions
Not exactly the same but I took a bunch of maps/mods and put them into one mod. Not one continues timeline but all accessible from the menu. So it kinda can be done. Kinda.
@Jake Crowley I'm sure gonna try. I put together 6 mods. Each mod is filled with 30 mods/maps. Just picking through the scraps over at RTSL to fill up more.

Teriffic playthrough :) I was part of the team making this mod 15 years ago now. (That’s us on the picture in the cabin.) You managed to show pretty much all the little details (apart from the body falling down the elevator shaft, and the Combine coming in from all sides at the end ;). We wrote a two part story, and had the level design concepts ready for Port Halen and the prison (which was more centered on the Combine and less on horror), but alas we never got around to making it. Lovely to see it still being played after all these years. I’ve been told it no longer works on Steam. How did you get it running?
you guys made this at 2005? a year after hl2 came out?

This has to be an old mod considering it still uses the pre 2007 blood splatter when you hit enemies.
And the old fire effect with the exploding barrel at 6:12 :D
