I feel like this song is really meaningful for Wendy, to show a different side of herself and to personally find freedom from herself in the past - she was always a good girl. She went from over achiever in high school to the company - I think it's true that she's continuing to find herself and her confidence. Idk if you've listened to the album, but I feel like there's a clear story here between this title track and Queen of the Party as well. I feel like the genre really suits the narrative of the song in that reflection of the past. The style of the video is soooo cool, too. I'm just so happy she's back with more music for us! 🎉🎉🎉 But honestly she makes every song sound easy. The execution, the ad libs! Better Judgement is a vocal flex and is soooo simple.
I don't think that the song is about saying bye to your other self, but more bye to the perfect image, being perfect, always smiling, being like a perfect living doll, of others want you or force you to be. Like being tired to be that perfect image that you hate and that the others want to be and finally throw it away and be the real you, the you that you want to be. That is what the lyrics say clearly.
She has been promoting but it also has been almost 3 years since her debut so she lost a lot of momentum that she gained from her debut and add to that the type of song mixed of casual fans like more darker or sexier type of songs from soloists so it hasn’t been talked about much as her debut. sm don’t really buy ads for most of their artists either like they originally rarely did it before but it’s even rarer now & most sm artists fans stopped organizing parties to stream mvs & songs like how other companies do Despite all that She still has been doing well tho A lot of luvies haven’t been that excited either like luvies who bias her who mainly been excited but many of who bias other members don’t really care much 😭 but I ain’t gonna talk about inner fandom issues much
I'm glad she's stepping out of her comfort zone. It would have been way too easy to do another album of smooth jazz and piano ballads. Musically, RV has never done a song like this.

These are good, modern pop songs & as you listen to the other tracks, there's more than the teen girl anthem of the title song. I wonder if this was an Aespa song that they gave to Wendy? She should have gone full "30 Reasons". I read that SM weren't happy for even this much of a drift away from Ballad Wendy (rip) Being one of the best female k-pop vocalists around her 3rd mini album should be soonest and shocking. Maybe an ADO collab? Or a Seulgi collab! This is a start.
For me 30 reasons really made for seulgi... Each artist has its own signature music and style and for me ROCK, POP, RnB, EDM suits Wendy more ofc her ballad just stay there but wendy upbeat music with her thick vocal tone is much more suits her.. Watch out her MUSIC SHOW wish you hell She really nailed it esp the choreo .. Shes an idol soloist but aside frm that her music really suits to those BAND and shes the lead vocalist wendy MUSIC FESTIVAL TYPA is what much appealed and perfect as I see her.. Yknow she really love to sing holding her mic infront of stage just being stand there nor seat and vibing the song is what really the real wendy . Even herself like that feeling so I guess this 2nd album is perfect in this .
Oh no no no, that's setting Wendy up for hate, all hell would break loose with all the comparisons and everyone would say shes copying, it would just be all negative for Wendy. Remember that this was Wendy's choice and fight for creative freedom. So, even if its not a concept that appeals to general public that likes more dark, cool and sexy concepts, this is something that Wendy is genuinely enjoying while performing. Wendy herself has said that as long as even one person listens to her, she will sing until her voice no longer comes out, so even if she doesnt blow up, she still gets millions of listeners and she's fine with that😌
