It's a part of Western New York but since you guys love hiking I recommend making the drive before leaving the state do visit Letchworth State Park. It's been voted best state park with great trails, a delicious restaurant, and gorgeous views of the waterfalls!

I remember camping and never knowing when the tank might empty, but we had two tanks so if one went out, we could quickly switch to the other tank. Then we could go get the first tank filled up again. In those days we stored the tanks outside the camper on a rack and held them in place with brackets built into the rack. Very old school, and probably not practical in this age of people stealing whatever is not locked down (and even then they get ripped off!) Your aunt's art was really awesome!

Update: I googled Beacon and even though I have a fair amount of reading to do, I think I may have to take a little trip there next fall. I like sleepy little towns. At a glance it’s definitely my kind of place for some R & R aaaaand I’m not that far away (NE Ohio) so the travel would be economical. Win/win!

Great video, gorgeous drone shots, wow! We had no heating in our last van and knew it was time to head back to Liverpool from Scotland when we woke up to solid ice in the inside of the van. A local said we should stay cos we 'had our love to keep us warm', hmmm, no, my partner's a big lad but he's no comfy blanket :/

Trent & Allie I guess I was lucky that MB installs a aux pick up on the top of the tank although on my boat I had to install one and it was a no brained even for me.

You can get an adapter to add a portable tank. Simply turn off all propane appliances and pilot lights.

If you know it’s going to be really cold, put one of those Mylar space blankets in Frank’s bed. I know people use those for outdoor dogs in winter.

Hi guys, it was great to hang out with ya last night. I almost suggested to buy Frank a sweater for the East Coast weather, but I see he already has a jacket. Was it from Backcountry 😁😁😁😁😁. That breakfast frittata looked delicious. What a great view from the fire tower, but I would have thought it was off limits due to the liabilities of the city. Yep, planning on a diesel heater connected to the main tank. If I run out of that, I have bigger problems.
Yeah, how would that be if your heater drains your tank dry in the middle of the night, then you're cold and stuck haha
Usually the second pickup in the tank for the diesel heater is placed in such a fashion that the heater starts sucking air before the tank bottoms out, just to avoid that. :) And finding diesel is easier than propane. Also, what small risks there are with propane are eliminated. But, then you do have to figure out some other way to cook also if you want to eliminate propane entirely - either off big lithium batteries with an induction cooktop, or a diesel burning cooktop too (and those cost a chunk of change.)

I find it real easy to exchange tanks but not as easy to have them re-filled. But I feek more comfortable refilling as the state of the swapable tanks looks suspect & dirty. Plus they only swap standard tanks & mine is a 2.5 gallon.

I have a question. When it's hot outside, how do you cool the van when Frank is home alone? My dream is it go tiny, but we have very hot summers and I'm concerned about leaving my pets home alone in such a small space.
You’ll need to have a good ventilation with a window and roof vent and if it’s over 95 degrees you probably need an a/c unit and a power hook up.
Nice video guys. Next time you run out of propane, you can always run the van and crank up the van heater. I've done that a few times in situations where it was colder than my furnace could supply the necessary warm air in the truck camper.
gotta get out of the warm bed to do that haha
You could either train Frank to start it or you could install a remote starter. Take care...

I always keep extra tank and a hose to connect to permanent tank,because I don't like a cold a middle of the night/extended stay a name of the hose,you can buy at camping worlds/
Yeah i've seen those, but we don't really have room for an extra tank haha

The tower wasn't really haunted haha. That was a tortilla de potato or something like that, spanish dish.

Get an ESPAR heater. Never worry about Propane again. Runs on gas from your vehicle.
Yeah they're not a bad option, but they're spendy and we already have propane ran in the van so why not use it for heat too.

Frank, if a normal and healthy Heeler, is quite comfortable at that temperature and lower. If he sleeps in some sort of heated environment every night and has no undercoat, maybe uncomfortable, but it should be obvious if he is feeling the cold.

Frank climbed half the stairs then he got scared haha. He loves his coat 😊 and yeah we filmed so much that day we had to cut off before we got back to the house! Next time we’ll get some hot tub footage
