"Transcendence means it absorbs you; you don't absorb it.... True love is about getting beyond yourself."
Thank you Rabbi Jacobson. Here is an excerpt from the writings of Marshall Vian Summers on Knowledge and Love: "Allow Love to be in your life today for Knowledge and Love are one. Allow yourself to be a recipient of this today, for in this you are honored and your sense of unworthiness is dispelled. Receive the power of Love...practice true receptivity. Allow Knowledge to reveal the nature of Love to you.... for Knowledge loves you as its own, and as you learn to love Knowledge as your own, your sense of separation from life will disappear. Then you will be prepared as a contributor in the world, for then you will only wish to contribute that which you have received. You will then realize that there is no other gift that can in any way compare to the gift of Knowledge which is the gift of Love. This you will wish to bestow upon the world with all your heart." (MVS, Steps to Knowledge)

In my flawed and imperfect way, I try to be mindful of Micah’s words: “Do justly, love mercy and walk humbly with thy God”. I saw that written outside a synagogue when I was young. The purity of that verse remained with me my entire life. Not so much religious, but I’ve never stopped seeking the transcendent.

I am Christian and I felt Transients when I gave my life to Jesus at 7 years old but understand until I was older in teenage years when I was baptized because I felt God's Love, It felt like I was walking on clouds and the Love from my Heavenly Father made me feel like nothing could hurt me, I felt overwhelming Joy. I spoke in tongues at age 7 and in my teenage years and it was only when I was filled with the Holy Ghost.

Transcedance only happens when we learn self care/love and can love others in ways we understand from relationship with them is loving for them. Hence not being burdened by religion built for power like the Roman christian church which most followers of christinity to this day still follows and burdens people with hell, rejection after promising unconditional love. Hashem is the only true love and judge of our unique lives.

A pagan tradition born of Roman and Greek influence to worship a human turned gd. Gd has no body or semblance of one. He has never taken mortal form and the story of Passover teaches us that we are slaves to only one master. To gd who freed us from the Egyptians and took us as his own. We shall never serve two masters.

Dear Rabbi Simon, I grew up in a non-religious home. I did like the idea of God and I liked praying and talking to God, but I never found a church that I liked. To me, they would always do things that I could not reconcile with my understanding of God. The past ten years I have learned a lot from scripture and have gotten to know God again. I really enjoy watching your videos and I have learned a lot from you. Thank you ❤️

Cindy- I grew up in church. Not a strict but loving home with God as the center of it. As an adult, I’ve been looking for a church home (again) that isn’t caught up in the negative. We r an antennae to God. A church family is nice, but your relationship w God is already in you. Don’t worry about it too much, just listen to the Holy Spirit in you and do your best. Best of luck on your discovery!

Love you Brother. Thank you. I did not grow up with religion. In some ways I feel lucky about that. I had a really rough childhood. I am now 50 and did not start seeking meaning or purpose to my life until 5 years ago. I have studied Christianity, Taoism, Buddhism, and Hinduism. I Love your candor. Truth is the highest vibration you can live in. Even above Love. We are in times where a greater understanding of who we truly are is upon us. Quantum physics is proving the teachings of spirituality. The Double slit experiment follows along with the Hermetic Principle that everything is mind or mental. Everything we see in this material world is based off of conciousness. What you focus on is where your energy goes. I live in truth, trust, unity, and Love everyday. The last 5 plus years have been challenging but also the most rewarding. I see you Brother. I would Love to have a good conversation with you. I think we would both enjoy it. Blessings! One Love.

Our seder guests are mostly non-Jews as we live on a country farm far from any city. I feel transcendence in sharing our traditions with very appreciative regulars (including a minister) and our young adult kids' many friends. We wrap up with Broadway tune seder songs that everyone can sing with enthusiasm. Laughter abounds. Our 3 kids are proud to share their heritage with Christians/agnostics, etc. . . (despite their embarrassment of the annual screening of our home movie of the exodus we made when they were little! ) 😂 Thank you, Rabbi, for your insights.

I am new to your channel and find that your videos add "validity" to my current thoughts/feelings/experiences. This particular video helped me understand (amongst other things) where I may be in my personal "transcendence" from being a life-long, self-centered/materialistic being to a purely giving, diminished and spiritual one where my "soul is dominant". My flesh is not giving up without a major fight but your video opened my eyes to where I'm at and encourages me to surrender myself to our Creator all the more.

Thank you Rabbi I love your deep knowledge and direction. I too understand much of what you say, I am on my path and I myself do see the traditions holding people back from true spiritual development. Thank you Rabbi I learn more everyday.
