man thank u, was having issues with mine after i installed new router and started to use asus for media bridge and conected it instead of my old usb wifi antena, and now i have way better internet conection and speed
Hello. I have an Asus ax58u and I ran a cat 8 ethernet cable from my spectrum router 75ft across the house to my new Asus ax58u router and I want to connect my xbox to it with another cat 8 cable. What mode do I use, AP or WDS? Also, what mac address do I enter for 2 4g and 5g? I'm having a difficult time with this, any help would be appreciated 🙏 I want to use it as a wifi repeater/extender as well, thanks.
I have an entertainment system setup in my family room. Presently all network devices connect wirelessly (that I want to improve) to my main router. I understand I can setup the ASUS Media Bridge here and connect the network devices via Ethernet to the ASUS Media Bridge which will connect wirelessly to my main router. Can the Asus Media Bridge be connected to the main router via Ethernet (it’s possible in my case) and are there any advantages? Or should I set up the 2nd router as an access point or 2nd WiFi router and can I keep same SSIDs?
In your case, if an ethernet connection to the main router is possible you just need an ethernet switch. Connect your devices to the switch and the switch to your main router. You can buy a 5 ports ethernet switch in Amazon for less than $20.
I would like to setup a Asus router to connect to internet provider wifi and use it as a media bridge with a VPN. can you setup a media bridge that uses a VPN provider?
Hi, My ASUS GT--AXE11000 is not changing into media bridge mode. It's changing to AP or router mode but not media bridge mode. Everytime time when I configure it as media bridge mode it's coming to initial setup state. Other router which I am using also ASUS ax6000 router. Am I missing anything here?
@@KnowledgeSharingTech okay, thanks. I get wifi from my landlord, I don't know what modem/router he uses. And I don't have access to that. Can I use this router as media bridge in that situation? To receive wifi signal and turn it into LAN ports? Because I need LAN ports now for work.
@@desistarrecords Not sure if I understood your question, but you need a second router for using the media bridge function. I bought a AX56U used, but are planning to buy a AX68U for the media bridge function and use AX86U as main router. Asus is expensive, but then you get quality and can repurpose the router for other scenarios when upgrading or sell them om the used marked. I have tried both Netgear and TP-link, but neither of them supports wake on lan or media bridge.
Ok, so now why is my connection WORSE than before I started using media bridge mode? I am using an Xbox One S and I hoped to improve its connection by wiring it to my Wifi6 capable router. But now my connection is WORSE.
Since you’re in media bridge mode, I’m assuming you can’t bring an Ethernet cable across your home to directly connect your Xbox to the modem, is that correct? Otherwise you don’t want to use media bridge mode.

It's same as WDS function ? Media bridge is fancy name for wds ?

Hello, amazing video keep up the good work!
What happens if i don't have any other router to use and i wanna use the bridge mode, does that work?
Thanks. No, you need another router

Make sure to update its firmware
As 86u is used as media bridge. For some reason it connects to 80 MHz channel only so speed is 1899 Mbps not 3600 or 4000. Is it a sw but?
I assume that you have the AX86U. Try to force the 160MHz channel form the 5GHz properties under "Channel Bandwidth"
I dont understand everyone said you need two routers, I want to make it clearly, do you need two routers? Or a modem and a router?
You need a modem and 2 routers.
Hi, Do you any cheap options for Media bridge routers? Asus one is very expensive.
Apart from Asus I don't know any other models that support media bridge, you can always get a used Asus

I got a rt-ax88u and rt-ac68u, which one should be the main router and the media bridge?
Ax as a main router
the page just hang.. any ip address that i can manually enter to get inside the media bridge page?

Hi Bro, Can Media Bridge be used to connect to a non Asus router? Meaning an Asus router connect to let's say a TP-Link AP/Router (gateway).
Hello, the main router doesn't have to be an Asus router 02:00
@@KnowledgeSharingTech Fantastic! thanks!
@@KnowledgeSharingTech After configuring media bridge, what IP is the Asus? I can't seem to find it.
Oh, i got it, it's on DHCP therefore the main router randomly assigns the IP.
