As a child watching this I was so confused as to who I wanted corey to end up with. "Aren't you having fun with me?" The way she delivers that line is so damn heart felt!
Everything was good about Lauren except that she pursued a relationship with a guy who was taken. That was unacceptable, and Topanga never would have done such a thing.
The thing is though, she wasn’t just trying to be a ho. She clearly felt really hard-hitting, head over heels love for Cory. She didn’t know Topanga. People gotta try even if it’s some grey shit.
Ive seen every episode multiple times. This was my show. I remember being soooo mad at Lauren for wanting to be with Corey when he was with Topanga. But then at this part. I started to like her. She was real and honest...and broken. She wanted a real thing like Corey and Topanga had. I remember thinking that if they did end forever, Lauren would be the only exception for Topangas replacement.
I agree with this but like I read from a comment above, it's never right to go after a man in a relationship. She knew Cory was taken but still pursued him.

He tells her that he has Topanga, agrees when she says the relationship can't go anywhere, but also lies to Topanga's face so he can spend more time with Lauren. IF (and this is a big if) Lauren had continued to pursue him AND Cory went skiing with his friends, then yes you can say it was wrong. But she showed she was willing to walk away from Cory when the evening was over, Cory is the one who showed her it was acceptable to pursue him. Both parties are at fault.
I think the moral of this story arc, including Cory and Topanga’s breakup after and Topanga going on a date with another guy, is something along the lines of naturally being attracted to other people, even when you’re in a relationship. Every relationship has its limits and is put to the test at some point, but for Cory and Topanga, even when there was a breakup and opportunities to see other people, they came back to each other after realizing that they were the ones they wanted to be with for good.
I really did like Lauren as the other female character from corys life. Quite honestly the dreams that she likes are actually realistic and you can tell that what she wants, is to have a real honest and comitted relationship.

I give Boy Meets World props for making this a tough choice. Lauren was a genuine catch. You could consider her a true rival to topanga and it wouldn’t be odd if Cory had ended up choosing her. More recent shows would have made her a snake in the background to make the choice a non issue for whoever the protagonist is.

It was actually kind of heartbreaking hearing Lauren’s voice break a little when she asked Corey “aren’t you having fun with me?” It’s like she realized as much as Cory might like me and have fun me, it’ll never be comparable to what he has with Topanga. I love Topanga but I also liked Lauren a lot too, she could have made him just as happy as well, but I think Cory made the right choice too. It’s normal to be curious how it is to be with other girls because he’d never been with anyone else and I think this was very important for he and Topanga to go through as a couple and but also just as important for Topanga to go on a date with the Artist she went out with in the episodes to follow. After she kissed him on her date that’s when it all clicked for her and she knew without a shadow of a doubt that Cory was the only person she wanted to be with

100% agree. It literally happened to me in real life, that my ex got a new job and with it this new h_oe that “was gonna stop talking to him, because she “didn’t know” about me, yet she asked for his phone number to his coworkers that 100% new about me, and she just thought he was “cool” as a “friend”” just to never back off, lie to him about me, completely break us apart, get pregnant from him, and get an apartment with him in less than 2 years after he ditched me for her, when our relationship lasted like 2 years and we never got to do half the things he did with her in no time… just for him to keep hitting on me and trying to string me along behind her back through secretive mediums making me believe he was regretting everything and wanting to come back to me, yet still to this day not having apologized yet for everything he put me through and every once in a while when he knows I’m 100% finally moving on, trying to convince me again that he has true feelings for me and wants to leave her and not stay with her just because of the baby.. but he keeps wasting time not doing the right things already and I’m finally over him. Finally. After 4 years of loyalty to him through thick and thin, I am so done. Yup, as we saw in GMW, they both needed this trial to understand what they had with each other. Cory always knew, but Lauren was that forbidden fruit who tempted him too strongly. For Topanga, she admitted to being young and feeling threatened, but as a more mature adult, she better understood what Cory believed all along.
She still shouldn’t have done that. She KNEW Cory was someone’s boyfriend, yet she didn’t care and actively tried to break them up. That’s a scummy thing to do. Don’t let the fake “wide-eyed wholesome mountain girl” act fool you; at her core, she was a selfish homewrecking b*tch.

Cory to me made the right decision like Lauren was mature and can connect with Cory that it took till him and Topanga got older to connect with intellectually but in the long run I feel that Lauren and Cory would've grown apart after a while. Cory and Topanga already talked about how they would never find someone they would love more then with each other that's why when they broke up they found they're way back to each other cause there is no one else they would rather be with.
The writing was so brilliant here. It really put you in Cory's shoes. He wasn't the only one conflicted. So was the audience. Everyone roots for Cory and Topanga but it was hard to dislike Lauren because she was so likable and had substance as a character. She wasn't just your average malicious bitch trying to wreck a relationship but rather someone who was just following her heart.

I would’ve chosen Lauren over Topanga. Lauren represented a change in his life, someone who liked a different lifestyle and who could show him things. Plus Cory was always the one fighting. I feel Lauren would’ve returned that same effort. Topanga never really did that.
@@LORD-kg4sl I get what Julio is saying...throughout the show "Cory always knew" is rang like his battlecry, but Topanga ran away...like...a lot. Sure Cory made mistakes and did some amazingly stupid shit, but at the end of the day you always knew he was going to love and fight for Topanga. With Topanga there were times when you thought "Wow, she's really done with him", and that feeling is what I think OP is referring to. Lauren (to me) represented unrestrained drive to fight for what she loved. Maybe that would have been Cory or maybe it wouldn't have been, but the ride would have been one to watch for sure.
Yeah, Lauren would have been a change, but a bad change. If she was willing to move in on Cory despite knowing he had a girlfriend, what’s to stop her from “exploring her feelings” for another guy someday as soon as things got rocky between her and Cory? You can’t trust someone like that. Ultimately, Cory realized that while Lauren was attractive, she wasn’t enough to sway him to leave Topanga because he loved Topanga, not Lauren. He was so miserable breaking up with Topanga that he turned to drinking. That’s Lauren’s fault. I don’t think that’s a good sign of how things would have gone if he had chosen Lauren, and thankfully he didn’t.

I liked this scene because this showed that Cory was safe with Topanga - meaning he never stepped outside of his comfort zone but with Lauren he did something he wouldn't have normally done. I think Cory did the right thing by choosing Topanga (bc love triumphs the like of someone he realistically met over one weekend) but he could taken this moment to see that they were too familiar with each other and needed to help each other step out of their comfort zone which is a key part of growth In a relationship. Opposites attract because the opposite will push the other person out of what's comfortable.
Dude no matter how much I love Cory and topanga, Lauren was such a sweetheart and truly a fun, cute, normal person who was not at all much different from topanga. I was 7 when this episode took place but when I saw it a few years later when it was on Disney I had the biggest crush already on topanga, but I couldn’t help having a crush on Lauren too because just how he’s she’s gorgeous imo, but she’s not the kind of girl who wants to be spoiled or acts all full of herself. She’s just a normal girl who wants a guy to love and care for and to just have the same in return and to just share a meaningful bond with. I am not one who condones cheating or lying, but when you’re 17/18 a serious relationship at that age can be tough since you’re so young, especially since Cory has only been with topanga so I can’t blame him for his curiosity. Those who call Lauren a home wrecker or whatever I get what you’re saying, but still you can’t fully blame her because sometimes we can’t help how we feel for someone and even though you may like someone who’s taken, I don’t think it’s harmful to at least let them know. Besides, this was a key moment in Cory and topangas relationship because going through this only shaped their relationship to be even stronger and made them both realize that they were meant for each other only. Cory kissed lauren. Topanga dated and kissed another guy and they both realized that they only wanted each other.
i feel like this represents a lot of life , and what people face. there could be many countless outcomes and you always wonder , " did i make the right choices in life? " for all we know Lauren could have easily been some one great for cory , but he decided to go with what he knew, but because that's how the show played out. in 2023 i feel like its much different , when i look around these days , people start off with the person they think is right for them. then they start a family with that person , only to wake up one day and think if they are really with the person they want to spend their life with. it used to be that , you would spend your life with that person , even if you felt like you weren't connected with them , all because you had a family with them. either you regret you didn't and separate , or stay together , and maybe be happy , but with that doubt in the back of your head the entire time. the biggest problem is outside of topanga / cory releationship , cory never really dated on the show outside of her. when he did , he was afraid to admit he was enjoying with time with lauren , because he realized he could develop feelings for some one else.

I moved back to the town I was from and we literally live 10 minutes from each other. My marriage didn't work out I got divorced. Met another woman,had another kid and been married for 12 years! She dumped her fiance and a few years later met a new guy. Now I'll be going to their wedding next month!he's actually a really good guy...Life is absolutely amazing and I wouldn't trade my marriage,house,and kids for anything in the world! Even for her. I concur with the commenter below. After having watched this again after first seeing it twenty years ago, I would have fallen in love with Lauren right when she asked if I was having fun with her.
In this video, their future visions didn’t match. Incompatibility but definitely physical attraction. People can have fun with anybody but it all comes down to compatible values/morals/ future visions. Lauren and Cory could have potentially been soulmates but Topanga and Cory were definitely Twin Flames.
There's another timeline where Cory and Topanga broke up, but eventually learned how to just be friends so that Topanga could be present for Cory and Lauren's wedding.
I liked Lauren a lot. And tbh I just thought she and Cory were really cute together and made sense together. Cory had his doubts like we all do. Doesn’t mean he never loved Topanga or that Lauren is a bad person, it means that he felt something he never did and he didn’t know how to explain it. Hence the hiding part. So he felt he needed to explore that with Lauren to understand and this date gave that clarity. He knew he liked Lauren but he loves Topanga. As a kid, I never could’ve figured that out but as a grown man, I get it now

I would have fallen for Lauren over Topanga. Falling for Lauren reminds me of The Notebook movie. I could see getting with Lauren lasting forever til death do us part. Lauren may seem as a homewrecker to most but she's a once in a lifetime opportunity that doesn't come many times in life. She's made that known. I'd be uncapable not fallen for Lauren. Linda Cardellini as Lauren gave a masterful and touching performance that still is felt when I see her.
One thing that annoyed me about this was that Topanga Is the one who suggested it and she broke up with him for his decision. I would have made a life with Lauren. She's completely likable and adorable.

And then Cory and Lauren date for a while. Then Topanga comes back a couple of months later to visit Cory only to find out that he has to moved on. that would have been interesting to see.
I was in the almost exact same situation as a teenager, and looking back, I should've left "Topanga" flat and pursued the relationship with "Lauren." Topanga ends up getting completely shrill and annoying on BMW. She is a bright and unique girl, but she spends about half of the whole 7-year series whining at Cory. "Corryyyyyyyy Corryyyyyyyy, I don't think we should see each other anymore." As a kid, I would've found Lauren irresistable.
Like when her parents got a divorce. That time Cory literally did absolutely nothing wrong. He gave her time and had so much patience with her. She broke off their engagement for literally nothing. They should’ve brought Lauren back during that time.

The thing with Cory is, he makes mistakes like any teenager does, but it's clear from day one on BMW that his character is a really, really nice guy with a big heart. I always feel like he deserves better than Topanga. The other thing is that so much attention is placed on the Cory/Topanga relationship, but arguably the far more meaningful connection in his life is with Shawn. Or with Feeny. Actually, Feeny's connection with *everyone* on the show is more meaningful to me than C+T.
OH Lauren! After Cory decided to not be with her, she ended up have a great career with the Strategic Homeland linguistics division and met the love of her life who was an archer instructor, later she had some kids and settled in a nice farm :)

I don’t get people calling Lauren a home wrecker. Corey and Topanga were not married; they were dating. Huge difference. If you find yourself falling for someone who has a GF/BF but you think there’s a chance, it’s not wrong to tell that person you think they should be with you instead. What is wrong is trying to get that person to cheat on their partner with you rather than breaking up with them first. Some people will say Lauren did that when she kissed him, but it wasn’t like a make-out session. It was a very simple kiss to express how she felt. There’s a LOT worse that could have happened. In my opinion, Lauren really did nothing wrong. This coming from a guy who has never cheated but has been cheated on before. So yeah. I know how badly getting actually cheated on sucks.

After reading these comments, I feel like I’m the only one that dislikes her. She said that she didn’t want to get between with Cory and Topanga but she kisses Cory knowing that he is taken. That was the main reason why I didn’t like her. She should’ve respected their relationship and her saying that she didn’t want to get between with them two is ironic since she’s the reason why they broke up.

It literally happened to me in real life, that my ex got a new job and with it this new h_oe that “was gonna stop talking to him, because she “didn’t know” about me, yet she asked for his phone number to his coworkers that 100% new about me, and she just thought he was “cool” as a “friend”” just to never back off, lie to him about me, completely break us apart, get pregnant from him, and get an apartment with him in less than 2 years after he ditched me for her, when our relationship lasted like 2 years and we never got to do half the things he did with her in no time… just for him to keep hitting on me and trying to string me along behind her back through secretive mediums making me believe he was regretting everything and wanting to come back to me, yet still to this day not having apologized yet for everything he put me through and every once in a while when he knows I’m 100% finally moving on, trying to convince me again that he has true feelings for me and wants to leave her and not stay with her just because of the baby.. but he keeps wasting time not doing the right things already and I’m finally over him. Finally. After 4 years of loyalty to him through thick and thin, I am so done. And this story between Cory and this h_oe that I haven’t fully seen, but just a few clips about it here on youtube, is so similar to my situation is crazy… so if anyone knows a link to watch the whole story between them that’d be great and possibly very cathartic. Yup, as we saw in GMW, they both needed this trial to understand what they had with each other. Cory always knew, but Lauren was that forbidden fruit who tempted him too strongly. For Topanga, she admitted to being young and feeling threatened, but as a more mature adult, she better understood what Cory believed all along.
She still shouldn’t have done that. She KNEW Cory was someone’s boyfriend, yet she didn’t care and actively tried to break them up. That’s a scummy thing to do. Don’t let the fake “wide-eyed wholesome mountain girl” act fool you; at her core, she was a selfish homewrecking b*tch.

Cory to me made the right decision like Lauren was mature and can connect with Cory that it took till him and Topanga got older to connect with intellectually but in the long run I feel that Lauren and Cory would've grown apart after a while. Cory and Topanga already talked about how they would never find someone they would love more then with each other that's why when they broke up they found they're way back to each other cause there is no one else they would rather be with.
But the mistake Cory made was taking Topanga's advice.
The writing was so brilliant here. It really put you in Cory's shoes. He wasn't the only one conflicted. So was the audience. Everyone roots for Cory and Topanga but it was hard to dislike Lauren because she was so likable and had substance as a character. She wasn't just your average malicious bitch trying to wreck a relationship but rather someone who was just following her heart.

Sure Cory made mistakes and did some amazingly stupid shit, but at the end of the day you always knew he was going to love and fight for Topanga. With Topanga there were times when you thought "Wow, she's really done with him", and that feeling is what I think OP is referring to. Lauren (to me) represented unrestrained drive to fight for what she loved. Maybe that would have been Cory or maybe it wouldn't have been, but the ride would have been one to watch for sure.

Yeah, Lauren would have been a change, but a bad change. If she was willing to move in on Cory despite knowing he had a girlfriend, what’s to stop her from “exploring her feelings” for another guy someday as soon as things got rocky between her and Cory? You can’t trust someone like that. Ultimately, Cory realized that while Lauren was attractive, she wasn’t enough to sway him to leave Topanga because he loved Topanga, not Lauren. He was so miserable breaking up with Topanga that he turned to drinking. That’s Lauren’s fault. I don’t think that’s a good sign of how things would have gone if he had chosen Lauren, and thankfully he didn’t.

I liked this scene because this showed that Cory was safe with Topanga - meaning he never stepped outside of his comfort zone but with Lauren he did something he wouldn't have normally done. I think Cory did the right thing by choosing Topanga (bc love triumphs the like of someone he realistically met over one weekend) but he could taken this moment to see that they were too familiar with each other and needed to help each other step out of their comfort zone which is a key part of growth In a relationship. Opposites attract because the opposite will push the other person out of what's comfortable.
Dude no matter how much I love Cory and topanga, Lauren was such a sweetheart and truly a fun, cute, normal person who was not at all much different from topanga. I was 7 when this episode took place but when I saw it a few years later when it was on Disney I had the biggest crush already on topanga, but I couldn’t help having a crush on Lauren too because just how he’s she’s gorgeous imo, but she’s not the kind of girl who wants to be spoiled or acts all full of herself. She’s just a normal girl who wants a guy to love and care for and to just have the same in return and to just share a meaningful bond with. I am not one who condones cheating or lying, but when you’re 17/18 a serious relationship at that age can be tough since you’re so young, especially since Cory has only been with topanga so I can’t blame him for his curiosity. Those who call Lauren a home wrecker or whatever I get what you’re saying, but still you can’t fully blame her because sometimes we can’t help how we feel for someone and even though you may like someone who’s taken, I don’t think it’s harmful to at least let them know. Besides, this was a key moment in Cory and topangas relationship because going through this only shaped their relationship to be even stronger and made them both realize that they were meant for each other only. Cory kissed lauren. Topanga dated and kissed another guy and they both realized that they only wanted each other.

i feel like this represents a lot of life , and what people face. there could be many countless outcomes and you always wonder , " did i make the right choices in life? "
for all we know Lauren could have easily been some one great for cory , but he decided to go with what he knew, but because that's how the show played out. in 2023 i feel like its much different , when i look around these days , people start off with the person they think is right for them. then they start a family with that person , only to wake up one day and think if they are really with the person they want to spend their life with. it used to be that , you would spend your life with that person , even if you felt like you weren't connected with them , all because you had a family with them. either you regret you didn't and separate , or stay together , and maybe be happy , but with that doubt in the back of your head the entire time. the biggest problem is outside of topanga / cory releationship , cory never really dated on the show outside of her. when he did , he was afraid to admit he was enjoying with time with lauren , because he realized he could develop feelings for some one else.

That is so true! My Lauren is actually getting married in a month. We've known each other for 30 years! The one shot we had was when I was a sophomore in highschool. But then my dad took a job that moved us out of state. We kept in touch,over the phone and social media and stuff. I met someone else and got married and had a kid. She got engaged to another guy. I moved back to the town I was from and we literally live 10 minutes from each other. My marriage didn't work out I got divorced. Met another woman,had another kid and been married for 12 years! She dumped her fiance and a few years later met a new guy. Now I'll be going to their wedding next month!he's actually a really good guy...Life is absolutely amazing and I wouldn't trade my marriage,house,and kids for anything in the world! Even for her. I really loved Lauren as a character and she was awesome when I watched this as a teen (16 or 17, I was the same age as Ben/Cory).
In this video, their future visions didn’t match. Incompatibility but definitely physical attraction.
People can have fun with anybody but it all comes down to compatible values/morals/ future visions.
Lauren and Cory could have potentially been soulmates but Topanga and Cory were definitely Twin Flames.
There's another timeline where Cory and Topanga broke up, but eventually learned how to just be friends so that Topanga could be present for Cory and Lauren's wedding.
I liked Lauren a lot. And tbh I just thought she and Cory were really cute together and made sense together. This was an superb testament to he and Opangate's lol history, relationship and union and obviously it wasn't what either one of them thought it was...my point is "as children" they loved each other (without knowing what "Love" actually is) and as adults they obligated each other which is wrong and is most certainly *'NOT LOVE';* Unfortunately a tv show is a tv show and ratings are ratings and that was more important smh
Cory had his doubts like we all do. Doesn’t mean he never loved Topanga or that Lauren is a bad person, it means that he felt something he never did and he didn’t know how to explain it. Hence the hiding part. So he felt he needed to explore that with Lauren to understand and this date gave that clarity. He knew he liked Lauren but he loves Topanga. As a kid, I never could’ve figured that out but as a grown man, I get it now
If you really love someone you should never have to cheat on them to test your feelings. Topanga never did that to Corey no matter how many other guys hit on her.

I would have fallen for Lauren over Topanga. Falling for Lauren reminds me of The Notebook movie. I could see getting with Lauren lasting forever til death do us part. Lauren may seem as a homewrecker to most but she's a once in a lifetime opportunity that doesn't come many times in life. She's made that known. I'd be uncapable not fallen for Lauren. Linda Cardellini as Lauren gave a masterful and touching performance that still is felt when I see her.

I was in the almost exact same situation as a teenager, and looking back, I should've left "Topanga" flat and pursued the relationship with "Lauren." Topanga ends up getting completely shrill and annoying on BMW. She is a bright and unique girl, but she spends about half of the whole 7-year series whining at Cory. "Corryyyyyyyy Corryyyyyyyy, I don't think we should see each other anymore." As a kid, I would've found Lauren irresistable.
Like when her parents got a divorce. That time Cory literally did absolutely nothing wrong. He gave her time and had so much patience with her. She broke off their engagement for literally nothing. They should’ve brought Lauren back during that time.

The thing with Cory is, he makes mistakes like any teenager does, but it's clear from day one on BMW that his character is a really, really nice guy with a big heart. I always feel like he deserves better than Topanga. The other thing is that so much attention is placed on the Cory/Topanga relationship, but arguably the far more meaningful connection in his life is with Shawn. Or with Feeny. Actually, Feeny's connection with *everyone* on the show is more meaningful to me than C+T.
OH Lauren! After Cory decided to not be with her, she ended up have a great career with the Strategic Homeland linguistics division and met the love of her life who was an archer instructor, later she had some kids and settled in a nice farm :)
She was pretty amazing in the few episodes she was on. Even in Girl Meets World her daughter made a appearance.

You know, I think I might have met a special someone too. She used to work at the bakery I go to a lot, and we connected very well. On her last day, she said my coffee was on her (I'll bet to pay me back for the candy I got her and her crew as a Christmas present last year). I don’t get people calling Lauren a home wrecker. Corey and Topanga were not married; they were dating. Huge difference.
If you find yourself falling for someone who has a GF/BF but you think there’s a chance, it’s not wrong to tell that person you think they should be with you instead.
What is wrong is trying to get that person to cheat on their partner with you rather than breaking up with them first. Some people will say Lauren did that when she kissed him, but it wasn’t like a make-out session. It was a very simple kiss to express how she felt. There’s a LOT worse that could have happened.
In my opinion, Lauren really did nothing wrong. This coming from a guy who has never cheated but has been cheated on before. So yeah. I know how badly getting actually cheated on sucks.
I wish they would have taken this relationship a little further I would have liked to see how it would have been with Corey with someone else cuz I kind of like Lauren also but still I agree with everybody Cory and Topanga should be endgame
