This series is awesome. It helps me understand why totally OK not to tap to these, and it also helps me understand what I'm trying to do when I put these submissions on people. Thanks, BMac!
Man, my foot cracked right as I tapped to this move. I feel no pain unless I turn inside with the foot though, so thankfully it's not that bad. I was worried because this is the first time I've gotten injured in Jiu-jitsu, but this video is helping me not panic lol, it definitely feels similar to a light ankle sprain. Hopefully I can start training again as soon as possible, but I won't push my luck. Thank you!
This are so damn good and I love how you gentlemen are approaching this. Also, I’m 2-2 on moves that are in the top ten and also in my typical rotation 😂
Had a superfight on Sunday, got my ham sandwich countered by a toe hold and popped all of said ligaments mentioned on this video. Thankfully I tapped before anything devastating so I'll be back to training today, but was hoping toe holds would make this list 😂
I’m surprised he didn’t mention that toe holds can also attack the knee if you rotate the foot, which rotates the knee. I almost had my meniscus torn from someone cranking one on way too hard and too fast. That injury is much more serious, sometimes requires surgery, and has a much longer recovery.
If you really crank it. (Put the toes in the butt.) It will snap the Fibula over the Tibia and tear up the knee. John Lober had this happen in Pancrase. It was actually a compound fracture (the bone came through the skin.) He said he didn't even feel it happen. It wasn't until he saw the blood did he realize something was wrong. The heel hook will also do this.
The ankle seems to always want to pop right when you tap unfortunately. Then it's like, well I'd rather had just kept going then. People bring the thunder on some toe holds. Ian McPherson was always a toe hold guru 🤙ruclips.net/video/1U6Ahpwe6lc/видео.html
@@sWrd_Master Texas clover leaf is my favourite position to get it but any time that it pops up I'll go for the toe hold. It's boosted my leg game big time
This level of explanation should be the default expectation for every single sub we use.
I'm a physiotherapy student so this anatomy breakdown is both entertaining and a good lecture haha. Can't wait for no. 8

Having the surgeon there takes this to another level! Right on Brandon!
I love that the first two videos in this series are about the two subs I hit at my last tournament.

sending love from 10p here in austin 💜
Much appreciated!!!!
I love how it always ends with, “that’s exactly what I’m not saying.“ 😂

I like this video series
I like this little series. I think it could be better if you added in a few clips of some unfortunate soul suffering an injury from said submission.
I thought about that, but a lot of people really dislike that stuff and I wanted to make something everyone could benefit from.
Toe holds are my favorite leg locks - brutal and pretty high percentage at local comps since they're not world champs willing to let it snap lol
Happy Birthday this week BMAC🎉🎉🎉
Anybody know what to do if they here there ankle pop from this move

Ah bummer dude. Gotta keep that foot hidden while you’re playing that game. Work into the positions he gives you. Hope you heal up soon 🥰
@Brandon Mccaghren Thanks man. I tried pulling the trigger too early and left myself exposed. Tough way to learn a lesson, but ill be better next time

toe hold is the scariest move to me. i have rolled ankle trauma.
feel you bro been recovering since i injured it march 9th
I will tap in a flash! Toeholds are tough to heal too.

#8 is a Twister, but what happens if there's no tap.
My favorite.

Interesting. What match was this?
I had a toe hold finished on me this week 💀
Number one:TWISTER
I hope crotch ripper is in this list, just for the jokes you can make with the doctor alone
