As a Mogwai fan of 20 years what I love about this band is not the noise but the beautiful use of noise. Any band can be loud but very few can use noise for the purpose of beauty.
Incredible audio mix on this recording, despite it not being offered in HD. Stuart's bass is at the forefront here, and it's added a whole new sonic development to it. Just fucking brilliant...
Ive seen these guys live a number of times playing this badass song and the bass was sat normally in the mix. Maybe the bass was brought up post production for this vid? Such a fantastic song.
Adam Bell each to their own but to me this was gut wrenching sonic brilliance-I don't even play and I can pick apart the nuance in this. Look if you don't like it then hey,I don't like Justin Beiber so ill never leave a msg on his vids. Give their "come on die young" album a try-that's what first got me hooked, listened to it when it first came out here in Scotland and I was hooked-before that I had listened to their "young team" album when it first came out but couldn't get into it-"come on die young" was the album that got me. This is a band that for some can be difficult to get into but once you understand then that's it. I can't say more
@@rumourhats The music isn't sixth form trust me. Maybe it reminds you of when you were back at school/college listening to this type of music. You're confusing the two.

Fletcher Wilkinson aye.....exactly what you said brother
@@spike7038 Yep. Purchased Young Team the day it was released. Never has music been so beautiful and brutal in the same breath. 😊
Noice, What noice - I hear only fantastic tunes and the brilliant minds that can create such fantastic noice.
Dont forget to bring earplugs to their concerts. they may possibly give one an irreversible hearing damage.
in fact they use of noise is a gift to humanity. that’s how people should percieve Mogwai.
This might be the best sound I’ve ever heard.
I want that bassline to follow me anywhere i go.
Great comment

When a melody and some chords are enough to do a great song.
This is why I love Mogwai.
Incredible. Always sounds better live
the best 08:50 minutes to forget reality for a while...
The BBC Sessions recording of this song has been on my running playlist for like 12 years nows. Never gets old.
Same - the BBC recording is I think my favorite recording of this particular song. Long Live Mogwai!
when the bass is everything
Watched these guys way way back in Derby in a small venue i think was called the loft. Loved them then and still do now! There Mega x
hearing this song on the john peel show got me into mogwai

Stuart is so cute 🥰🎶
its been at least five years since I've heard this
My that was good
I mean objectively, the bass is ridiculously too high in the mix here. But I'm glad it was, this is awesome.

God dammit I fucking love mogwai
@Nitro20101 I thought the bass was spot on for Helicon. On most songs it was too loud in the mix. But here it was just fantastic.
Oh god ...

I love that fucking bass
Nice. Is there someplace I can get the whole show?
Science fact of the day: it's the actual background noise of the universe 🙂
@willpreeview I know and thanks, but is there a download available anywhere?
Damn, Vin Diesel plays the bass tightly
@LeGronk The rest of the vids from the show are on my channel mate. Seek and you shall find! x
@Steb54 Just the bass was too loud.
Dead boring how can you say that was good
Go to the circus, dude...

@@teethgrinder83 I used to love Mogwai, but 20 years have passed since then, and it all sounds very 'sixth form' to me now.
