You need to have an auto feature with the masking tool where you can take the two clashing tracks and and have neutron automatically make the suggested cuts and boosts while being able to assign priority to a track. I use the mask feature all the time with my kick and bass . Im never quite sure of what to cut and how much to cut so theres a lot of trial and error. I produce VERY bass heavy music like Dub/ Dub techno so getting that kick and bass bottom end is always a fight. I often use masking for both EQ and sidechain compression. Good list !
@@DavidKfilmmaker nah. It does show you were the frequencies clash which is helpful. What i was asking for is a lazier way of doing it. Since it already has the ability to analyze and suggest EQ cuts and compression etc for a track im looking for a way to do this between two tracks and do a specific thing. I can do this by hand and ear (what i do now) but Im never sure if im cutting the right frequencies too much or too little. I like Izotopes AI suggestions that i can listen to and adjust to taste. Its how I often use my Izotope and sonnible smart plugins. Speeds the process for me since engineering and mixing isn’t one of my strengths yet. Im getting better at it but I don’t have the ears that some engineers who have been doing this for years have.

Very helpful, I moved myself back to Ableton stock EQ’s and Compressors in the last 18 months, with a smattering of Neutron on drum busses. but have been looking to get my workflow back into an Izotope frame of reference as I’ve known there are a good number of benefits, this tutorial has really sealed the deal. I completely agree. I always think the same thing - WHY Izotope does NOT have oversampling??? And most companies / plugins have oversampling (at least up to x4 / x8). Apparently Izotope doesn't give a damn about Aliasing? There is also no Linear mode for all their EQs/compressors and so on. Why???
@@sergeyleps8492 yes I agree like just give us all the control. I think I will message their support and at least find out what sample rate neutron supports. I asume up to 192khz but I would like to be sure.

Great series, however, I'm disappointed to see that there are new features in these pro products that have not made their way to the Advanced products. Hey there, yes you would still get the Masking Meter. Check out more here on unmasking in Neutron 4: www.izotope.com/en/learn/unmasking-your-mix-with-neutron.html#masking-meter
@@ELLIOT8209 Thanks! I'll check it out. There are a couple others I've been looking at but they cost a bit more than Psyscope Pro. $19 is a steal for it.
Neutron Pro has the oscilloscope view, but otherwise it's the same. They haven't been eager or forthcoming to announce this, as you can see when trying to find a comparison chart and having difficulty doing so. They literally added one feature and changed the name from Advanced to Pro, and made that one feature only available to subscribers.
Some are, some aren’t. For example, Advanced doesn’t have the oscilloscope. That was the biggest difference I could see. There may be 1 or 2 more features.
@@jacobnault1272 Right. This is why I'll use other oscilloscopes instead, like Blue Cat's or Ozillos for example, within my FX chain. It's a bit more cumbersome but a lot more flexible. You can see all the effects in-between two scopes as well as the before and after. You can even view different tracks and sidechains overlaid on top of each other.
Shame on you Izotope I Invested in neutron, nectar (plus) and ozone advanced (the software is fantastic ofc) a month before izotope decided to scam its perpetual licence owners by locking them out of the pro features. I and many others have asked for clarification during their live streams and been ignored or fed a lying corporate schpeel about how this is better for the customer when anyone with half a brain can tell this about pleasing investors at the expense of loyal perpetual licence customers. 2 questions: Why would i buy any more of your software when your willing to cripple its updates and sell a a cannabilistic subcription version instead? And for perpetual licence holders are you really expecting them to pay for the subscriptions on top?
I see that the oscilloscope view is missing which doesn't make me happy, so I agree with you on that. Looks like everything else is intact. I'll see if I can get them to add this. Other than this single feature, it appears that Neutron 3 Advanced and Neutron Pro are the same thing.
scamming you how exactly lmao. there’s like 1 extra mundane feature in the assistant portion of the pro versions. making a business decision you don’t agree with doesn’t = scam people are actually insane. you don’t even understand what you’re upset about. If you have a license for X version of Y piece of software when the new version comes out you still have to pay to upgrade. What exactly are you being scammed out of? You can still pay to upgrade except you don’t get a singular extra gimmick feature or you can just use the version of the software you bought and that’s that. Either way it’s not changing anything for you if you buy licenses. They’re also a business and they’re trying to market a subscription so yeah they’re going to add a try and add incentive for it. Again they are trivial features I have like an extra option in the assistant which I never use. Either way, you’re not being locked out of anything. You bought X version of Y software and are not entitled to anything more than that. The pro and non pro versions are 2 different products. Also the advanced versions literally have more features than the pro versions like RX. Maybe try actually looking before screaming that you’re being scammed lmao

Too subjective - hire a mix engineer if you can't make the decision yourself.

Is the EQ dynamic?
Yes
Oh this is for the computer. Is this neutron music player or something else?
Can I upgrade Neutron 3 to pro? Or this only for subscribers?
I’ve been demoing the stuff but it is way too intense on the CPU. Makes it drag click and make scratchy sounds with logic.
