- Practicing the piano can be tricky sometimes, especially if you don't have the right structure. Thankfully, you don't have to be lost as a beginner piano player, because in this video, I show you what I think is the PERFECT piano practice routine.
The routine is simple, and consists of all the essentials when you're trying to learn a musical instrument as complex as the piano is. In this video you'll learn what my favorite warm up routines are, how to structure your practice sessions, how long each of your practice periods should be, and how to approach a brand new piece as well as music you already know so you can better maximize your practice sessions!
So in a nutshell what I'll cover is:
⭐ Warm up routines that warm up the fingers and improve technique
⭐ Using articulations to enhance your warmups and scales
⭐ Utilizing chords to improve your coordination and range
⭐ How to approach new and old music
⭐ Why implementing sight reading is essential
⭐ Which order to arrange your practice in
⭐ and much more..
When you have your piano practice solidified, you'll be able to play your favorite songs much faster. Besides, you'll have a routine that helps you develop all the technical skills required of your music, and you'll spend your time more effectively, taking care of the problem areas rather than aimlessly going through things that simply don't work!

Hey Josh, how many hours should you practice this daily routine if you're a beginner?
If you've got time I say aim for 45 mins - hour per day. If you're tight on time you can just do less repetitions!
@PianoFrenzy thanks for the quick reply, you've got yourself a new subscriber!
Thanks how to learn enough theory and site reading? Also why is learning scales more than one octave taking so long 😮
Hmm, depends where you are in your journey. The most important thing is to know your way around the keyboard first, understand basic chords, and then add some theory in small bits.
For scales more than one octave, I'd go contrary motion first. Figure out where your turns are in each hand. Then go parallel motion, hands together. Focus on small chunks. You may find this video on scales may help you out some: bit.ly/3uIwoiz
