This week the DP World Tour heads to Scotland for one of its most popular events with the 21st staging of the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship. Danny Willett returns to defend his title at the festival of links golf held over Carnoustie, Kingsbarns and the Old Course at St Andrews, with Major Champions Rory McIlroy and Matt Fitzpatrick headlining a stellar field also containing World Number 15 Billy Horschel, recently crowned BMW PGA Championship winner Shane Lowry and tournament specialists Tyrrell Hatton and Pádraig Harrington. In eight DP World Tour appearances this season, Rory McIlroy has finished outside the top ten just once when he was 12th at the year's opener in Abu Dhabi. He has finished runner-up at the Masters Tournament and the BMW PGA Championship, while on the PGA TOUR he won twice en route to claiming the FedEx Cup. A three-time runner-up at this event and renowned links player, McIlroy will also have the incentive of winning the team event alongside dad Gerry. Danny Willett had to wait nine months to claim another worldwide top ten but since July he has finished ninth at the Omega European Masters and was only denied victory at the PGA TOUR's Fortinet Championship recently after a three-putt and Max Homa chip-in on the 72nd hole.

This was bound to happen sooner or later. I was fortunate enough to follow him around the final day of the BMWOpen in Munich, where he almost chased down Haotong Lee. He's been in good form for a while. This was another great fourth day, and on a brutal course. brilliant.
I thought Rory was the only guy in the tournament based off of ALL of the featured highlights lol. Good for Fox, he's been playing great as of the last few months!

Love how Ryan gets his divots and takes them back to fix himself, Most tour pros just strut on and leave it to the caddies.. Class Act.
Many times caddies don't pick them up either. Some courses have an arrangement with competitors, namely that the course maintenance staff will take care of the divots after the rounds.
I have always liked him pure class 👌👍
A few weeks ago a commentator described Foxy's swing as 'agricultural'.
His coach is a fellow New Zealander Marcus Wheelhouse who recognised (quite sensibly) very early on in his amateur years not to change too much. Hard work has honed his game and perhaps that new putter might be a good thing. Congratulations Foxy.
The commentator is right, he does look like a weekend basher but hey Wheelhouse was very wise if it meant he could earn 4.5 million this year. Fox has never swung like Ben Hogan or Ernie Els but on the smash and gouge courses he can do well. Good luck to him, looks like a top bloke enjoying what he does (who wouldnt, pro golfer has to be best job in the world if your making a dollar.
His coach Marcus Wheelhouse was also the Number 1amateur in the world at one point so knows a little bit about getting it done ;)
@@daleclarke3850 If you can get a swing like that to No. 25 in the world you are a great coach. Fox will never win a masters, but if he stays on the European tour he should make a great living.

He's had a great year foxy. Just missed out in the play off in Dutch open too against perez. Great guy, great performance. Love this event.

Wow, how fantastic. Liv golf have taken a lot of cream players. Had Liv supported financially all tours it would have been better. Support grass roots as well would have been well received. Instead gave handouts to those not in need.
