You don’t have to eat Asian food ,it is served in the Asian restaurant and there are around 4 different restaurants to choose from or you can eat from the main buffet.This hotel is one of the best
I think her point is that Jamaicans abroad prefer to go to a hotel that has our traditional foods at the buffet and at an a la carte. Some hotels actually have a jerk pit on the beach, and our breakfast dishes on the mornings. Those are the kinds of hotels we look for. We can get Chinese and Japanese abroad. Plus, I have NEVER been to a hotel in Jamaica that actually had real Jamaican-Chinese food- now that’s really unique and tasty. The best I’ve had is in Kingston, the capital city.
This place is awsome we love it here. the staff are extremely friendly and honest, you can leave your belonging and cash on the beach and in the room without having to worry about it. The food is the best in the carribean and compares closely to north american food. The buffet is better than buffets in my home country
This is my first time here at the Riu Ocho Rios. My group stayed at the Lady Hamilton in 2023. My only dislike at the Lady Hamilton was that their buildings were old and have no elevators. There is a strong mildew odor in all of the rooms. There are 11 restaurants on site. At the Riu, they don’t have a lot of restaurants but the rooms are very clean and there is no smell of mildew. Both resorts are family friendly but visitors don’t control their children. At the Lady Hamilton, the entertainment is way better than the Riu. Food is pretty much the same but the Lady Hamilton had better fruit. I think the next time we come back, we will stay at an adult’s only resort. Overall, the staff are good people. They just don’t like foreigners who are disrespectful to them and their culture. If you are kind to them, they will definitely go overboard for you. Jamaica is an awesome place for vacations. You just have to research what your preferences are before you make reservations. If you are into a lot of excursions, I recommend staying in Ocho Rios than Montego Bay.
I just came back from here. Beach was beautiful but, lots of people. No place was peaceful on the beach or pools, or restaurants. Would I go again? No I wouldn't. When I go on a vacation I want to relax in peace.
