I have an old Makita hammer drill I use for the bad stuff I don't want to ruin my new ones on. I had to drill a bunch of overhead holes in a concrete condo ceiling to install automatic blinds. I didn't have a dust catcher at the time but I tried to make one out of a water bottle. By the time I was done the clutch wouldn't turn and the trigger was doing the same as yours. This thing was caked with concrete dust. I got it mostly apart but at some point I couldn't go any further. I took this mess to a local Makita repair center with everything in a baggy. Joey, a year or so ago, I purchased an "open box" Milwaukee mower off of Ebay. When it came to the house it looked clean except for the small amount of grass that was inside the box. This concerned me of course. I took it out on its maiden voyage and much to my dismay, it started acting up. It would run for awhile, then shut off unexpectedly. Prior to purchasing the mower, I had seen complaints from people having the same issue so I knew it was something that was problematic with that mower initially when it was released. I, of course, complained to the seller. He was an extremely nice guy who actually said to keep it because it was listed as new and that the cost to ship back would not be worth it to him. I immediately called Milwaukee who told me that they didn't have any nearby service facilities for their lawn equipment nearby where I live in Upstate New York. They immediately dispatched Fed Ex who picked it up, fixed it, and had it back to me in about 10 days. They have swapped multiple batteries out for me under warranty as well....They are top notch!!...Paul

I've had some interesting warranty situations... Knipex forged wire strippers... had sharpness issues random spare one for a worker. They wanted me to send it back at $10 dollars out of cost to me wait months to get it back. I did that with them once and wasn't worth it. I took it to a local electrical supply house and they just sent it back for me and gave me a new one. Cool guys. Milwaukee I had a Crack in moving dolly new acme tool wanted me to pay shipping back... no way I keep in touch with my local Milwaukee rep at hd and he took care of it with a few taps on his iPad. The online system he said would have taken ages eirh my local ups store. Dewalt use to have a service shop a few miles away that I use to buy spare clips/bit holders or parts at. Generally if I had an issue they would tap on there keyboard and hand me a new tool. Once they shut down I haven't had such luck paying for shipping long wait times ect... Like you in general if it's not too much I move on time is money. Expensive items I keep good relationships with reps and they take care of me no issue. Reps are your friend I got on first name basis with my paint store and we pay less than garbage home depot paint for top teir stuff. Moral of the story I'm not spending my money to send stuff (including packaging materials) it's almost always forget about it....
Me too. If it’s going to cost me money, or a lot of time.. I’m just buying something. In this case I had other tools to use, so a week wait or more didn’t matter. Had it been my only tool, I would have had to buy something whether I wanted to or not… but had I had to pay for shipping… or anything, I would just put my money towards a new tool over fixing a 5 year old one.
My m12 surge is about at the 5 year point and it won't die so hope it dosent kick the bucket here I'm not willing to assist it along to get if warrantied before the 6 year point
Yeah I never try anything like that at Home Depot. I like most of the people at my store, but a few of the customer service people act like you are getting into their pocket. Some throw a fit when you try and do the hacks by returning batteries.
I've gotten thr stank eye for returning batteries and at one time customer service tried to refuse people doing it. When that happened I got on the phone with corporate and handed them my phone they told them to accept it and stop its on the receipt and it's not against the rules. I even tried for a whole to return the batteries before I left thr store 1 minute from purchase so they could put it back into inventory. Yoy can't please everyone. My tti rep tells people they can do that even! It's not a secret and corporate dosent care.

I gave them to family members and ridded myself of thoes pesky 2ah batteries laying around. SAcll was the az listing heck its cheaper to order a impact than a replacement clip 😆.
Wasn't much of a gamble at under 40 for 5 impacts plus people were impressed really a milwaukee impact!! Good enough for homeowner use cheaper than the gift bags and boxes it took to wrap them.
No, it has spots where all the holes are in the impact… so it still should have the same air flow. I was curious if it would be because all the Houdini I spray in there 😂…
Last year my Milwaukee SDS plus that does not have onekey stopped hammering. They no longer make that particular model. I ended up purchasing the new replacement onekey model. But quickly realized the dimensions of the new model was bulkier and wouldn’t handle running 3/4x 38” bits at all. So I sent in my original non onekey in for repair the last month in warranty. They called me about two days after I shipped it and wanted to “upgrade” me to the new model at no cost. I explained I already had the newer model and id didn’t fit my needs and thats why I had sent that one in for repair. They said ok and had my sds plus repaired and back to me a couple days later. So from the time I sent it off until I got it back was about a week. The smaller, old, beat up, repaired, non onekey still runs circles around the onekey variant. I dont know what I would have done if they wouldn’t have been able to repair it. Because the job I was on at the time I couldn’t get an sds max in where I needed to drill holes & the new model sds plus don’t have the capability as the old sds plus. All in all Milwaukee’s warranty process was simple and quick.

Makes me want to buy milwaukee,,,had issue with dewalt on battery, they just wanted to play pass the issue to the next guy,,,after fifteen minutes on my second hold for the next guy,,,,,i gave up and hung up…
That’s been my experience with most warranties, that’s why I normally don’t mess with them… or buy the “extended warranty” on things I buy
I WILL NOT buy from Acme Tools! Bad experience once. Just fyi
My trigger failed after 4 months I took it in guy behind the counter tried trigger and goes yeah trigger is bad and handed it back to me.
@@MattHmm-rq6dn that’s what I say. If you didn’t want people doing it, you would change how it does it on the receipt
Speaking of interesting milwaukee things.... on Az you'll notice some m12 first gen impacts that have no branding on them look fake ish. I bought some of the used good condition ones from $3 to $8 each and all 5 came legit sn real deal traceable milwaukee impact... I gave them to family members and ridded myself of thoes pesky 2ah batteries laying around. SAcll was the az listing heck its cheaper to order a impact than a replacement clip 😆.
I have bought a couple Milwaukee power tools off Amazon, but I normally get them at HD with hack, or sell parts of Kits on Facebook
Wasn't much of a gamble at under 40 for 5 impacts plus people were impressed really a milwaukee impact!! Good enough for homeowner use cheaper than the gift bags and boxes it took to wrap them.
isn't that boot blocking most cooling?
No, it has spots where all the holes are in the impact… so it still should have the same air flow.
I was curious if it would be because all the Houdini I spray in there 😂…
5 year old surge 3+ with a boot on no issue...
Good that they worked with you 👍
