    Joé here, I'm sorry I didn't read Balduvian rage properly, it was my mistake. I've since replaced it with bandage, which lets me draw a card instantly instead of at the beginning of the next upkeep.
    So again, I should have read my card correctly in the first place, but I wasn't trying to cheat. It was an honest mistake.

      Balduvian rage is not great and panic has a downside, but my deck runs 7 other 1 Mana draw spells that target so I dont think it's misrepresenting feathers power.

    • @lamentz27
      @lamentz27 5 лет назад +7

      @@JamesObscura It's fine as a pump spell for dishing out damage. The card draw is a bonus, but it shouldn't count towards Feather's "Repeatable Cantrips" package.

      @Archon I agree somewhat. There's just a lot of one mana pump spells that pump for 3 so balduvian rage is kinda a bad ratio. The card draw makes it okay tho.

  • @chadsamuels6512

    Because Feather plays oft unused cards it is very important when playing a new feather deck that you read all the cards before you cast the and make sure you are playing an instant or sorcery. There is a big chance for misplay, like Balduvian Rage. especially early on. As mentioned below there are many different cantrips and my deck runs nine and doesn't even include the Rage so while the Rage was misplay it is steal a feasible outcome had it been another cantrip card. While most decks do not run a lot of land destruction outside of drawing a bajillion cards it was the reliquary tower that won the game. This was because he was able to keep his card draws and have many lines of play available for the best path to victory.

      A little bit late but before each ending stage of a turn there should be a confirmation to allow the passage without other triggers, in that they pass priority

    In my opinion, the best way to play Bruna is making it a self mill deck. There should be minimal creatures in your deck. The rest is mill, mana artifacts, and the best Aura's in those colors. You can play Mirrormad Phantasm and mill all of your Auras to the grave. Then you swing and all those Auras come back and attach to Bruna.

      It's why I think people should be allowed in EDH to start with three random lands then shuffle and draw the restas EDH games takes hours sometimes so it's worth it to allow everyone play the game as it could be ages until the next game.

      Not really, it was also Jamie's own fault for keeping a hand that couldn't do anything unless he topdecked a land. I made that mistake lots of times.

    Regardless of the misplays, there are plenty of other and *cheaper* pump n' draws that don't require the creature to be attacking and Feather is as scary here and she is in probably every game. I've been playing her recently and she is quite nuts.

    At 7.13, when Joe equips the boots to his feather before combat, couldn’t Max just re-equip them to his commander since it is still the main phase?

    • @joshuawood2926
      @joshuawood2926 5 лет назад

      I don’t believe so. Max had passed priority and the way I think it works is that it goes around, Joe cast his magnetic theft. Priority then goes around again and Max could theoretically cast his own spells, but because you can’t normally equip at instant speed, the magnetic theft resolved and then the phase ends because you don’t get priority again once you’ve passed it unless there is something on the stack you are responding to

    • @danriemer9724
      @danriemer9724 5 лет назад

      @@joshuawood2926 @Robert Wilson The phase doesn't end once the spell resolves. If Max cast Theft in the precombat main phase, once it resolved a new round of priority would have started with Joe and given him the opportunity to re-equip or cast something, but this all happened in combat before attackers were declared which is why he couldn't re-equip.

    • @joshuawood2926
      @joshuawood2926 5 лет назад

      Dan is right. I was curious enough that I went to ask a magic judge. Apparently when you pass priority if someone responds during your main phase you actually get priority again and it stays your main phase.

    So, what did we learn today?
    1. Opening hands can be quite a gamble sometimes. You keep that hand that has the potential to do lots of stuff... IF you topdeck a land. It's always sad when that gamble backfires, as Jamie and Yuriko showed us today by not existing in the game. As someone who has kept potentially better hands than Jamie and still paid the price for my cockiness, I know better than to take my chances and advise heavily against it;
    2. Even if you're putting a card in your deck just for the cantrip (draw a card) effect, remember to read the main effect, just to make sure you can actually cast it. I feel bad for everyone who bought Balduvian Rage at a higher price, only to realize it can't be used the way it was in this game (it can only target attacking creatures);
    3. Board control can't win if it can't find wincons. Windgrace was certainly lacking them, according to the decklist. Not even a Song of the Dryads so you could give an opponent a forest, so that your Windgrace tokens could swing for the win...
