Thanks for all these videos Todd. I am learning a lot.
Thanks! I am glad you like them. If you ever have a question, let me know.
@@ToddEckelman90 Definitely! I am trying to get into assisting in Paris and make my way to US. Would be great to see how you would like to be approached by someone like me who is self-taught and serious about assisting and wants to learn.
Thanks
I would reach out with an email to people you would like to work with. Do research on who you want to work with, and make sure you know the type of work they do.
Be upfront about your experience assisting, and be ready to do anything. Ask if you can be a second assistant. Be ready to work hard and fast, and don't be late.
Hope this helps. Good luck.
@@ToddEckelman90 thanks a lot
Very nice ... thanks for the tips .... getting ready to order my super boom
They are really nice to have.
I am a beginner, but from what I have seen from other gaffers on RUclips, it seems that most say that one leg should be facing the lamp. Otherwise great video 👍
Thanks for watching, you can totally have the leg facing the lamp if you like. I try and keep it balanced a little to the weight side, so if the head moves it will go up and not down on the set. That's why I keep the leg on the weight side.
You’re right, NEVER place the leg opposite of the light or the stand can fall forward.
Accidents happen. Say someone removed the bag for whatever reason, that light will fall forward.
ALWAYS. Place the leg on the light side so that it can’t tip on itself.
Hey what C stand is that, been looking all over for that one in particular cant find it online.
Well the boom arm with the Swivel Head
