Well I guess with a population of over 50,000 its going to be a wee bit more developed then The Shetlands to the southeast of 7000 folks. Nice to see some woods & charming ladies on Faroe !

The difference between the Faroes and Shetland is stark, and not just in the scenery. Whilst old ferries struggle to keep Unst and Yell connected, in the Faroes underseas tunnels keep the whole archipelago connected. Denmark and Westminster have different priorities.

This is definitely a place I want to visit. A question though; is a car essential for visiting the Islands?

There is a really good bus service around the islands but a car is still the easiest way to get around
