  • The ride to happiness by tomorrowland is a spinning roller coaster from the German roller coaster builder Mack Rides in the Belgian amusement park Plopsaland De Panne. This roller coaster is scheduled to open in the summer of 2021.
    The roller coaster is the second Extreme Spinning Coaster type roller coaster and the first in Europe. The ride to happiness includes two launches, five inversion, a maximum height of 35 meters and a speed of 90 km/h.
    The first plans for the expansion of Plopsaland De Panne with a new spectacular roller coaster date from 2018. At that time, it had not been decided in which type of attraction the park would invest. The first rumors of interest in an Extreme Spinning Coaster from the German attraction builder Mack Rides surfaced after Plopsa CEO Steve Van den Kerkhof visited the American amusement park Silver Dollar City.
    On october 20, 2019, the application for an environmental permit was submitted to the Flemish environment counter, as a result of which the exact location and floor plans of the attraction have also been made public. The working title Robospinner was used for this. At a meeting for amusement park fans on December 21, 2019, Plopsa CEO Steve Van den Kerkhof officially announced that the choice had been made for an Extreme Spinning Coaster from Mack Rides and that the opening of the new track is planned for 2021. showed a simulation video of the new attraction.
    The park is investing 17.5 million euros in the attraction, decoration and landscaping.
    The construction of the roller coaster started in the fall of 2019, with the removal of several trees that previously contained part of the fairytale forest. In the spring of 2020, the foundations were built in the pond of the park and in the area of ​​the SuperSplash attraction. The first parts of the track were delivered on September 14, 2020. The build-up of the structure was completed on December 17, 2020.
    At the official announcement of the attraction, the theme and new working title Time Traveler was communicated the park was initially to use an 'underground Paris metro station' as the main theme, not linked to a Studio 100 figure or other IP. At the end of 2020, it was announced that the park is looking to apply a different theme.
    On January 15, 2021, the official name, The Ride to Happiness by Tomorrowland, was announced. The attraction will be decorated according to specific characteristics of the Belgian festival Tomorrowland, with the fairytale atmospheres in detail. The park is collaborating with the festival's creative team for this. The festival's soundtrack, the Tomorrowland Hymn composed by Hans Zimmer, will also be used as part of the ambient music and during the ride.
