Those gardens looks Soooo good. The tile grout dirt and rows looked amazing, and the finished product was perfect. Amazing! The shingles were pretty cool, too ;)
I love how Wyloch’s projects expand. “We have a house.” “Well, the house needs a garden.” “Naturally, the garden needs a fence.” “Of course, there will have to be a permit office to issue permits to build fences…”
Loved this video! You always seem to be such a meticulous, methodical builder; it is really fun to watch you improvise and react quickly and impulsively to curve balls. :) Great results too.
Dealing with sophomore geometry has been much easier using your projects... grades have gone from the 70s to the 90s. And our inventory has become quite formidable. Thank you.
I love these baldur´s gate series. I played the 1st and the 2nd a lot back in the day...such awesome games. These Crafts really make me feel nostalgic. Thank you mate 👍
I am really enjoying this series. I don't know how many hours I spent playing Baulder's Gate. The gardens are the standout in this episode. I recently acquired some farmer miniatures and this should be a nice place for them to live.
Allways a great Video. Keep doing what your doing. No apologies needed! ie self depriciating humour. Nice kitchen upgrade and keep the Mrs happy besides your viewers! Saving up my pringles cans for the walls. Baldur's gate build comming up here. Cheers from Edmonton.
This is my favorite building from this series of Baldurs gate stuff you've done so far! It looks awesome! I think the clusters of storage containers was brilliant. Because while the versatility of loose containers is great, let's be honest, how often has is that really useful on the table? Having some premade clusters to put down is so convenient. I love the the grout as stucco with the exposed brick! That was really cool! But mostly, I loved the gardens. So amazing. That kitchen is looking real good, btw. Nice job!
I love how you keep it all so down to earth. The way you make everything by hand with a limited selection of tools, is a testament to your creativity. Thanks!
Lol you don't have enough?! I can't imagine what it's like to be a player of one of your games. My players are more than happy with the stuff I have for them and I've only made a quarter of what you've made. I'm sure you have enough but I'll always watch another video.
This has been a fantastic series! The garden you made in this video was particularly impressive-that's my biggest takeaway this time. I've watched many of your videos and never fail to learn something new. Thanks for all you do for the community in helping us learn and grow in our own crafting
That's so amazing! The Garden is my favorite, those would look great for the outdoor green house while the magical plant's I have on my list can be in doors in the green house.
I love this series. I’m currently working my way through Durlag’s Tower in the PC game. Really satisfying to watch you bring a part of that world to life.
I think it looks great! One way to get the brick exposed is to shoot a matte clear coat on it then cut shapes in easy release tape. Stucco over the tape and wall then pull the tape and tada! I used this method when creating 3 dimensional finishes in my decorative finish days. Hope it makes it a little easier.
I really like the clusters of crates! I've got a pile of storage containers myself that rarely get used cause they're so finicky. I think I'll do the same!
Just a thought for gluing together the boxes and barrels ect; sometimes a player want to use a barrel for something creative! My players used a barrel just a couple of sessions ago to roll down the length of a trapped hallway to see what the traps would do! It could be fun to keep at least some of the barrels/boxes as 'single pieces' for these purposes ;)
‘Cutting shingles is literally the worst!’ Ohhh I feel you… But I really love this build. Hope this series gets the same long play treatment like your dungeons!
It turned out looking great. I liked the look of thje brickwork -reminded me of a lot pof old buildings I have seen over the decades. That said the end result was also great and, again, similar to a lot of old building walls I have seen (I am NOT fizated on walls LOL!). Crop rows look fine as the furrows always look darker (moisture). This build is looking really good.
Idea: What If you placed patches of vasoline around the walls, then the grout, after it dries I think the portions of the grout over the vasoline would just break away. Clean off the now exposed brick and it might look pretty natural.
More excellent work! One thing I've found with using grout at 28mm scale is - thinner is better. Getting it more like a paint than a paste helps make thinner layers, which makes later removal easier, as well as avoiding stucco that seems to be 6" thick.
A thought about the texture rollers - the GS World ones are great for clay but not so much for foam. Someone in the YT maker community put up a video where they were making rollers from plumbing pipe carved with a dremel for deeper impressions. Whack a decent heavy pastry roller inside and enjoy..
Just from the thumbnail, i thought this was the best one yet. Ill admit, i wasnt sure about the roof then *bam* hit it with the wash. Bold to use the grout, i would have just sponged on an appropriate color paint in the natural gaps where the bricks didnt work and then expand out from there but in spite of crisis, it worked out. Garden bonus was fun
Idea for Hobby crafters: If there are any shoemakers in your area, you can ask them, if they work with Cork and if you could have the offcuts they don't use and would throw away. You can also ask, if they would give you any old foot dummies (no idea what they're actually called) they use to make the shoe fit a customers foot, that they would otherwise throw away, and cut off the Cork. Those foot dummies you'd probably find at the Shop of an orthopedic shoemaker. It's a good bit of work to get the Cork off of the dummy, either (carefully) cutting it off, or maybe using something like a heatgun to carefully heat up the glue and removing the Cork once the glue is soft again (no idea if heating it up works, this was suggested to me by my Brother, who currently trains to become an orthopedic shoemaker, and I haven't tried it yet. There's also a chance, that your local shoemaker uses a different kind of glue, that react different to heat, so you best ask them, if their glue gets loose due to heat, and work outside or in a well ventilated area). This way, you can probably get Cork for cheaper than buying it in the store, and if they're really nice, you may even get the offcuts for free, that would've been thrown away otherwise. If you get foot dummies that are about to be thrown away, you could also get interesting shapes and/or different kinds of Cork.
Glue the foam stamps to a coffee can. Something with a big curve and some strength. Then roll it across the surface. If you look at the paint texture stamps they sell at hobby stores they have a big gradual curve to their surface to make them work. Like the wood grain stamps.
I love the gardens and the fences. Too bad the grout takes so long to dry, it looks really good when done. But what I loved the most out of this set was glueing the scatter bits together. I've got stacks of boxes/crates/barrels/etc and its just so finicky to use on the table, good idea, I'll do 3/4 of them that way. Thanks!!!
I've been using "canvas sheets" (used for yarn/cross stitching) for grates, window patterns, and other patterning. Hobby Lobby sells sheets for $1-$5. Its more rigid than drywall mesh.
@5:45 is indeed the correct way to handle scatter. This is also why I tend to avoid composing rules of tiles and favor having entire rooms to lay down at once: Too much fiddly. Composability is inferior to quick population of the table.
Hey I have an idea wyloch! There’s an older 40k game called dawn of war. Had a lot of factions and faction specific buildings. I know you’ve crafted some 40k buildings before it would be cool to see you making some of those other buildings too man. Especially since you’re one of the only og’s of crafting that still….. crafts. Have a good day!
I am curious now if it would not have been more realistic to lay down some hard-edged paper shapes onto the brick, and then peeled those off after laying down the grout, to get a more crumbled or ragged edge to the "stucco." Maybe a few smaller missing chunks, too. Hmmm,,,,I'm going to have to attempt that and get back to you on the results...but your house looks amazing. LOVE the finished product.
I know you mostly covered up that stamped on brick but I thought it was a good look. Maybe it looked better on camera I dunno. Cool build all around these make for fun vids.
I really love the look of the fences! The layout on them makes them really unique and characterful. How many days is it now since you last bedazzled something though?
if you want a wood stain that shows the woodgrain without using oils that take forever to dry, i use water color! not like the shitty crayola pallette kind- the kind in a tube. doesnt have to be a good tube. water it down and boom, wood stain. dries in like 10 minutes.
Great style .... hey doctor please if you remember a great opera of '80 and '90 why in respectivity : " The ghost and vampires " but and pkus : " Death rap dungeon " for you don't is a super style compised a awesome diorama ? "Cutting shingles by hand is literally the worst." - I knew there was a reason I liked you Bill. :P
Your videos are a big part of why I'm buying grout for my crafting. Thanks for another excellent resource.
Nice to see Athkatla and Ulgoth's Beard getting some love! I would really like to see you build the keep of the Friendly Arm Inn
Man, as someone who JUST finished replaying BG1 with friends, this is awesome. What an awesome series, top work!
To say you nailed it is an understatement. It's so good you might get a cease and desist letter. lol
Loved this video! You always seem to be such a meticulous, methodical builder; it is really fun to watch you improvise and react quickly and impulsively to curve balls. :) Great results too.
'Doc, I'm getting terrible pain from my shingles.'
I'm hilarious. That's why people cross the street to avoid me.
Dealing with sophomore geometry has been much easier using your projects... grades have gone from the 70s to the 90s. And our inventory has become quite formidable. Thank you.
Congratulations
"You like my house? Well check out my ACTUAL house."
Then drops a beautiful kitchen mini tour mid video 😯
King shit. Both houses look great 😎👍
I love these baldur´s gate series. I played the 1st and the 2nd a lot back in the day...such awesome games. These Crafts really make me feel nostalgic. Thank you mate 👍
Every couple of years I revisit BG1 and 2 (and siege of dragonspear too now that it's out) and it's always amazing
This building turned out great! I love the little garden so much
I love how you always come up with out of the box solutions, you really are a talented man 👍
I am really enjoying this series. I don't know how many hours I spent playing Baulder's Gate.
The gardens are the standout in this episode. I recently acquired some farmer miniatures and this should be a nice place for them to live.
This video is awesome! It has reawoken my want to craft! Thanks for continuing and being a consistant creator in attitude and work style!
"pre-prepared" isn't a word the world is ready for yet 😳

Looks great. And probably the one that looks the most like the original.
Awesome job.
Allways a great Video. Keep doing what your doing. No apologies needed! ie self depriciating humour. Nice kitchen upgrade and keep the Mrs happy besides your viewers! Saving up my pringles cans for the walls. Baldur's gate build comming up here. Cheers from Edmonton.
looking nice Wyloch
This house is best in the series, wonderful work!
Looks great. Love how the rooftop turned out.
i love the window muntins and the sashes cleaned it up perfectly, noice solution

I like your experiment with the tile grout as plaster and exposed brick! This whole series has been one great build after another, man.
Lol you don't have enough?! I can't imagine what it's like to be a player of one of your games. My players are more than happy with the stuff I have for them and I've only made a quarter of what you've made. I'm sure you have enough but I'll always watch another video.

Nailed both the house and the garden! Totally looks like it could have been placed in the game
That's so amazing! The Garden is my favorite, those would look great for the outdoor green house while the magical plant's I have on my list can be in doors in the green house.
Gesso + sand/baking soda = excellent scale plaster.
Thanks for the video! I thought you were about to say you used all those business cards to make the shingles. 😂
really enjoy your process of just getting down to brass tacks
This is such a great series. I started playing through the game again because of it!
This is most excellent!!! cant wait to see what else you come up with!!!
1:38 I thought you were going to cut up his business cards for shingles 😂
I love this series. I’m currently working my way through Durlag’s Tower in the PC game. Really satisfying to watch you bring a part of that world to life.

I need to see
I just recently bought a bunch of crafting supplies to try this series out. I'm looking forward to the challenge!
I really like the clusters of crates! I've got a pile of storage containers myself that rarely get used cause they're so finicky. I think I'll do the same!
I love this game and your work is an awesome homage to it 😀 it's cool how you bring it to life
Came out great! One of the best stamp making material I have found are cheap plastic erasers that don't work really well as erasers.
Looks just like the game! Fantastic job as always. I love the texture of that tile grout, I may have to try it out when I regrout my bathroom.
Absolutely nailed it, man!

Love this style!
Very good

No, the worst worst thing is another thing...

I'll just show myself out now...

@@WylochsArmory that is good to know.
Thanks for discover how to make rough concrete using tile grout! Not good for this build but great discovery anyway.
This is so cool. You should do some structures from Planescape Torment too!
Great video if you do try the brick stamp again maybe try doing it before you some building having the wall parts lay flat.
Great

Perhaps a convex stamp? Like the very large ones that you roll I stead of pressing hard?
I thought this guy was freehanding these until he said he was using a source image
I know you mostly covered up that stamped on brick but I thought it was a good look. Maybe it looked better on camera I dunno. Cool build all around these make for fun vids.
Have you tried cake making molds for brick walls? I bought some, was thinking of using clay with it, but could work as a stamp. Need to try it myself

TOO. LONG.
You ought to add a few of the other, special buildings such as the Elfsong Tavern from the first Dark Alliance game
aye
Now do your kitchen in 28 mm!
$60 to shingle *four* buildings?! 😱 At that price, I’m going to have to stick to my strips of soda pop case cardboard scored with a knife. *Free.*
Thank you for making a new video \[T]/
LOVE this one, i mean i love a good % of your work but solid A
W, how did you make your golden lamp posts? I can’t find the video!!!
It's the third Baldur's gate video
At 9:03, it took me too long to realize that he didn't think that the color of potatoes was a sweet color... ☹️
I looked on your list but couldnt find the thick scissors you re using? @Wyloch
Just kitchen scissors. Can find em at any dollar store in the kitchen tools area. Or Walmart, etc.

dude, what if you did the inside of the Planar Sphere!
You know what you need?
A laser cutter. 😏
nifty!
Ho there wanderer, stay thy course a moment to craft a cardboard house!
But… but… that’s a lie, it’s Athkatla, not Baldur’s Gate ! Shame ! Jokes aside, great work as always !
