I find taking the blank nut off the top of the rad and shoving a hose down to the bottom and siphoning works a treat, gets 95% of the water out the rad before you undo the valves, makes it a little less messy
Good shout that 👍🏼👍🏼
That’s a cracking idea!!
I love the water bag idea to collect the water! Here in the U.S. I use a mini shop vac for jobs like this and especially toilet jobs. Only cost about $25 US.
👍🏼👍🏼
Tile sponge for leaks esay to squeeze dry when mopping up also 22 9 pipe insulation easy pipeing to bucket also holds itself in possition great for drainoffs and rads also wet vac
👌🏼👌🏼🙌🏼
Take 3 of the towel rad scresa out and leave one at the top loose so you can rock the rad to get your movement with out the weight problem also vent rad into a cap or bucket them turn the vent off and use it to control the flow.
Nice one 👌🏼🙌🏼
When a shower mixer stat wouldn't work properly I'd dip it in some kettle descaling fluid to clean it out. 9 out of 10 times it did the job. And as for snatching rads take the pressure off first via the bleed valve ! 👍
Good idea that with the kettle
Lemon juice works well too
Your snatch technique is both safe and effective.
Whenever I fiddle with "snatches", I always make a mess. Don't tell mi missus. 🤫
Hahaha…. It’s worked that’s the main thing
A great video, as a DIYer these type of jobs are the ones I learn the most from. Those buckets seem to be worth their weight in gold, they saved the day.
Yep they are great
I had tongue and groove in my bathroon when I moved into my house. When I eventually ripped it out there was a fair amount of black mold lurking behind it.
I bet
Great video . I always have towels on the van to wrap around the bottom of the pipe before disconnecting the valve , and that’s after I’ve removed the pressure out of the radiator first 🤣.
I’ve had this happen to me a few times over the years . Like you said Mark , it always looks more dramatic than it actually is
Yep I need some towels for the van
I need one of those bags... Everything i have is little plastic containers and they're not quit that handy
👍🏼👍🏼🙌🏼🙌🏼
love your videos Mark and how you show warts and all keep them coming
Thanks mate
If the rail is being scrapped, then put a small saw cut in the bottom rail or drill a 5 mm hole and direct the water into buckets
Good idea that
Not heard the word oblong for a long time. Well used.
Hahahahaa good point
"Gotta be quick..... quicker than that" I love a good old snatch..... Chuckle...... Thanks Mark top Man!!!
Hahaha… cheers buddy
Great video as always Mark.
You must have the magical touch fixing the shower valve like that 😁
Hope you’re well buddy and HNY 🙌🏼
The random “fixed itself” job 🤣🤣
Hope your well mate
Great video as always mark don’t know about you but can’t believe the customer doesn’t have the towel rad valves turned to inside the rad instead of sticking out like they are 👍
Thanks buddy 👍🏼👍🏼
Really enjoying your videos
Thanks mate 👍🏼👍🏼
Good to see this video and seeing you happy those buckets are great better than my DIY paint tray lol
Great buckets mate
There's a new invention, it's called an aquavac 😀😀
It’s not a new invention…. They have been around for years…🤣🤣
And mine was sat on the van🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
There's an old one, it's called , a syphoning hose.
Nice snatch 😅 Re the shower, I had a very similar set up in my last house. They'd somehow piped it in plastic run in the cavity wall. I never worked out how they'd done it, or why. I was just pleased that it kept working 🤣
👍🏼👍🏼
Hi Mark,
Make it easy for yourself. Drill a hole in the old rad and drain into your bucket.
Good little tip
Nice one Mark
Thanks buddy
Great video this! My kind of day! 😂😂😂
Hahaha cheers Dan
Looks like the towel rail had a pocket of compressed air at the top
I always open the air bleed after I’ve shut the valves off to release any pressure then close it off again so it vacuums again
I also put compression cap ends into the the rad tails once I’ve got them disconnected then take the rail off the wall and take it outside to empty it
I know it’s a bit heavier full of water but I found it quicker and less messy than trying to drain into buckets 👍
👍🏼👍🏼
You work in some nice gaffs whenever I'm watching
Thanks mate…. I do get some nice work😉
Nice work 🪣🪣👏👏👍👍👍👍👍
Thanks mate 👌🏼👌🏼
That shower looks like some Victoria Plumb crap 2:29
Think it is mate
Hey love the channel keep the good work up . I need to replace my boiler in the next few months any recommendations 3 bed house 1 bathroom Combi boiler thanks

It was a wet one for you today Mark,😂
Great jobbing video today
👍👍🤜
Wasnt it just… keeps you on your toes
Hi Mark, two nice jobs there to catch up with, shower and tap cartridges can be a pain to source, if you can get a replacement one at all.
Nice job with the towel rail, I noticed some nice quality Pegler valves on the rad, always nice to see 😉, new towel rail looks very smart.
Have a great week and take care, regards Chris. 👍👍👍
Cheers Chris…. Yep shower cartridges can be a right pain
I bloody hate towel rails.
Mark you turned the valves off but there was still pressure in the rad, so you not have a wet vac? Ife got a titan £70 bloody great, no water anywhere.
Yep the wetvac was in the van…..🤣🤦🏻♂️🤦🏻♂️
@@MJTiffPlumbing 🤣
What kind of a guy offers a bacon sandwich and doesn’t deliver?! I say cold showers for life for him!

Indeed it is mate….
Love a snatch 😂
🤣🤣
Great Vid - always hate snatching as you’re bound to get wet!
Always
Snatched a sprinkler head last week, that water stinks,
Got drenched but saved a lot of time fannying around draining the entire system
Good work👌🏼👌🏼
I was shitting myself 3bar pressure, I thought if I cross thread this it’s game over 😭
🤣🤣🤣
🤘😎🤘
Evening buddy
@@MJTiffPlumbing Evening Mate 🤘😎🤘
I’m sure that shower valve cartridge can be put in both ways mate incase it has piped up wrong maybe the hot and cold are flipped
It’s been fine for about 4 years and just started to play up…. Think it’s knackered
Surprised you didn't just put sealant on everything
What?????
Wet vac mate. Wet vac everytime lol
And it was in the van 🤣🤦🏻♂️
Video longer than it’d take a good plumber to do that job especially fixing in to wood
10 mins max 😂
DHC…..🤣
If you listen to the video you will know it’s not just wood…..🤣🙄….. but that’s too much effort, instead people like you just can’t wait to comment something pathetic….🙄
Got some shit jobs there mate, hate this part of my job😂
Gotta take the rough with the smooth
That tap looks like a piece of skip fodder to me.
What tap??
Good catch..........💦 🪣
Thanks mate
