Oh my!!! I was so shocked to learn this just now of course. I have no idea! I had a huge crush on him when I was young girl. I will never forget his movie ' Thorn Birds " and thats where I knew him. Well, I still respect the man for what he is really but there goes my illusion for him! That's life!!

People keep on about Shogun and Thorn Birds, ( at Sept 2017, am half way through the audio book of the latter : main impression is that the t.v. folk did a good job in adapting the book ), but there was so much else. His ' Hamlet ' I thought was well done, with a virtually perfect English accent : I wish t.v. would show it again. We saw him in " The Lady's Not for Burning" at Chichester, and again the excellent English accent . As for the nasty person in the audience who shouted, " you never could!" (sing) : that was so mean, as he has a lovely singing and speaking voice . In fact, I'd go so far as to say his voice is his best feature.☺.
