As a fellow author, I will say I’d love to see these stories fully developed, because even though they are still very solid, most times they feel a bit rushed and I see many plot holes in them. I’m not sure how this channel works, if these are all your work or if they are sent to you, but I don’t think anyone would mind a longer video with more character development and more arc buildup.
Literary criticism aside, would you forgive Roderick? Personally, I’d forgive Roderick after I saw some financial compensation. I’d also have pressed charges after my assault. The hero in the story is a much better person than I am because I’ll only forgive when I’m made whole. Yes, I’m American 🇺🇸 and related to a lawyer. I’d also show Roderick how to Legally get back at his abusive family (they‘ll pay for his counseling, etc).

However, I’d still want Roderick to pay for my hospital bills and about 6 months rent in compensation for the illegal eviction (even if you owe back rent, you can only be evicted through the court process, not just throwing things in the street). Like, is this an alternate reality where this happens often, or did the author just pull it out for shock value?

For me, no matter where you are going through, it's not an excuse to bully or inflict pain on another person. Roger deserved to be dealt with, and bullies should be taught a big lesson
Daryl is naive and used to being a doormat, Roderick did not deserve forgiveness and certainly not his money. this guy beat him up, got him fired, got others to beat him up multiple times and got him kicked out and he never showed remorse. Daryl needs a therapist to unpack why he would continue to let someone treat him like that and then want to be “friends” with him.

Stopped watching. R belonged in jail for public intoxication, disturbing the peace, assault, battery, bodily harm, etc. He instigated everything, and attacked the kid at work. Give these criminal thugs permanent police records. Get it on the record. Jump for joy that their futures are destroyed by their own choices and behaviors. Letting everyone go and then the kid started to make amends? Nah. No point in giving any more time to this crap.
