Not bad for your first time playing the game. You were extremely lucky to cash in on the ace high bet. More often than not that bet does not pay off. Personally, I never play ace high but its just a personal preference. This is my all time favorite game that I always play whenever I visit Vegas, Red Rock is one of my favorite Casinos.

The Joker is probably the trickiest part of Pai Gow Poker and its variants--it's something of a wild card but not a full wild card as it can only be used for certain things. In any case, much thanks for bringing us some Pai Gow Poker action! 🙂

Other than craps, this is my favorite table game to play in the casino. It’s loads of fun & provides a pretty low house edge which allows you to play for a long time if you bet conservatively throughout any session. I’ve won a few progressive jackpots from this game too so I normally find my way back to it at some point.

Recently learned this and played it in Vegas. Very fun game once you figure it out. Always play the fortune bonus and the progressive. The Ace bet is a suckers bet. The progressive where we played made you eligible for the envy bonus. If someone hit one of those hands, everyone with the envy got paid. Two people hit straight flushes during my game and with a $5 bet on the progressive, everyone with the envy got paid $55.

    • @jeffreese7623

Typically, in las vegas, a $5 fortune bonus is what qualifies you for Envy. Anything less (if allowed) is no envy

This is a great social/drinking game. It averages between 30-40 hands per hour. You will push 39% of the time. Don't expect to win a ton here but at the same time, you usually won't get killed here. I wouldn't recommend betting the Ace-High. The Fortune bonus is much more popular. I'd recommend committing to always playing fortune bonus or never playing.
Face Up is actually a successor to original Pai Gow Poker. In original PGP, the dealer's cards are face down until you set yours. A dealer A-high does NOT push which means you usually beat the dealer. If you win you pay 5% commission on the winnings. The fact that the dealer's cards are face down requires the player to know a lot more strategy than this version. This version has a slightly lower house edge than original (but higher hands per hour and the A-High push mechanic) but I actually prefer original PGP for some of the ""advanced features" (E.G. banking)

    • @OldSchoolSlotsPlaysTableGames

The original version is my favorite table (followed by LIR).. Slower pace, social, and a lot of fun. Could usually squeeze out a small but decent win and really never had a bad loss. Liked to bank, didn't like the commission.

In order to determine who gets what cards first there's a random number generator that spits out a number 1-7 (i think). Dealer is #1 and it counts up starting from the dealer's right (i think) . Also this is to ensure a proper deal (no misdeal). If all positions are dealt, there should be 4 "orphan" cards which the deal will spread out at the end of the deal. This shows the cameras that this was a valid deal. Sometimes the dealer will put each non-played hand close together in front of them for quicker deal but they all must be dealt.

since its FUPG, u would know if u have a good hand or not. Thats why u wait till the dealer plays the hand out. Don’t know why its confusing, seems simple enough. Also, wouldnt make any sense loading up on the fortune anyway.

The dealer gave you wrong information twice. You will win the progressive jackpot if you get a 7 card straight flush with or without the joker. The difference in the payout with/without the joker only pertains to the fortune bonus payout. With the joker it pays 1000 to 1- 8000 to 1 without the joker. This is in addition to the progressive jackpot. The other piece of misinformation was with the Ace High payout. That bet pays 15 to 1 if the dealer has an Ace high Pai Gow with the joker and the player does not have an Ace high. If the player and dealer have Ace high pai gow's it doesn't matter if the dealer or the player has the joker. It will paid at 40 to 1 regardless.

on the hand that dealer had a full house 10's over Q's. that was a push. The dealer put his Q's as his low hand and trip 10's as his high hand. You had a Pair K's and a Pair of 5's so tech thats a push. You just put your cards wrong. The pair of K's should have been your Low Hand which beats the dealers Q pairs. Then you set your pair of 5's with the rest of the card and lose vs dealers trips 10's ...this is why face up you let the dealer fix your cards instead of you so that you wont make that mistake. In face down PAI you would make this mistake and you lose. Here take advantage of the face up PAI so dealer can help arrange the cards for you where you tie or win.

    • @Trojan2024

No, you CANNOT put the pair Kings as your low hand. In pai gow low hand on top and high hand on the bottom. Pair Kings are higher than pair 5s. No way to push on that hand.
