I find it nuts that the sanitary sewers share lines with storm drains. They're completely separate here in the states.
I think new regulations keep them separate now? To me it makes seems that they are combined as it helps with pushing everything through and keeping the lines somewhat clean!
I would think it makes the sewer plant work twice as hard 🤷♂️
@@JOE-on4pi rainwater and sewage is processed together in stockholm. I visited the plant and they caught everything from q-tips to bikes though different sized filter stations. It was insane!
@@jasonantigua6825 better to keep them separate and avoid high-efficiency appliances that don't allow enough water to flow through the sewer

It’s probably already been asked and answered but i just wondered why the hose makes that clicking sound?
It's the trigger on the hose (not unlike the trigger on a jetwash at a car wash). The trigger acts like a tap so the flow of water can be turned on or off as needed.

As much as I appreciate these videos, I wish there was some on-screen explanation of what is occurring - a description of the tool or device being used and how it's being used. For instance, at 03:47 we see one of those ubiquitous 'hose-like' objects being inserted into the region of the block - does this device work on air-pressure to blast away blockages or does it connect to a high-pressure water supply to do the same thing? Are those devices capable of suction as seemed to be the case early in the video when the water level dropped or was that a device item altogether? Looking through the comments I seem to be the only one not clearly understanding the tools and processes being used.
A few weeks back I found myself watching some guy eating pizza off a foldup table on a pavement in Bolton and it got me wondering where my life was going. Tonight I have moved 50 miles West and Im watching some bloke stirring a large manhole full of turds on Merseyside, and I still have no idea.

Forgive my ignorance, but is this a household sewage drain or general water drain? How much clogging can be attributed to objects sometimes called 'fatbergs'? What about so-called 'disposable wipes'? Here in Australia those products are a hazard, they don't work with drainage systems and should NOT be flushed. We try to educate the consumer, but it still happens.
It looks like an older combined sewage and storm drain line.
