I have seen washing machines like this before. I come from Germany and am now over 60 years old. When I was a child, you would find them stored in cellars or sheds. Nobody used them back then. These are washing machines for a museum.

My Mom used a agitator washer with a wringer when I was growing up. And the clothes were hung out to dry on the line. Today's washers cannot compare to the job those old washers did. More physical work though. That's why they've all but disappeared.
My grandma cooked and washed her laundry on the wood stove in the kitchen, everything that should be washed at 90°, there was already a machine for the rest

У нас щипцы деревянные были в 70м году.И не лезте в машинку включенную,мышцы руки сокращаются,если фаза пробьет на корпус,а ноги ваши заземление.В СССР часто такие случаи были,летальные.Ну если розетка у вас с землёй " и автомат на 6 ампер то может отсечет.И у нас выжималка была крепилась к машине.На авито можно найти я думаю.Природа конечно класс,дом на дровах наверное.В России газа почти нигде нет.Фитнес на природе самый лучший! My Greetings to Manhattan! We do laundry in Village as we need it. In winter we live in another house with all amenities so laundry isnt sich a problem. But even there we dry the clothes on the balcony, after the freeze it is specially fresh! It is Nizhegorodskaya oblast region. And thank you for your warm words!

A bit primitive but it is an agitator-type washing machine. I remember one from the early '60:s. It probably does get the job done,
