Great video! Kudos to you Marquis...quick question I came accross, Is there anyway to dynamically update the template once created? We sometimes get a template ( Blueprint) updated that is used in multiple projects for example, what is the best way to populate these changes from the updated templates to all related projects where its used? Any advice would be appreciated :)
I am definitely interested in this as well! Sometimes you build a template and realize that you forgot an important step after creating a bunch of projects with it - it definitely happens! :) Great video!
Thanks for the comment! That’s a great question. I wish there was a way to do this. The cleanest way is to update each project manually. You could also deploy the new template and then move the active tasks in your existing project to the new templated version.
Hey, thanks for watching! You could try to duplicate the original template as many times as you need, and then edit each duplicated template. Hope this helps!
Hey, It's weird. Did you check under "Customize" > "Task Templates"? If it doesn't show up there, I'm sure the template wasn't created for some reason.
I have created new template but I'm unable to add it to an existing project. The only way I can use it is if I create a new project, this alone is so limited we cannot go with the application. :( If anyone knows a workaround please let us know.
I have pretty much similar tasks to add to one of my projects. Ex: Content creation-July, Content creation- Aug Content creation Sep How can I enter these tasks in Asana? Should I make them as recurring tasks? Or else create one parent task and add others as subtasks. Please help. Which way is the best to run my dashboard smoothly?
Just so I am clear, I can add people to a template (subtasks) and it not show up in their my tasks? I'm working on my video workflow and I want to basically set it and forget it.
Took another look - it’s when you zoom in on the screen (which is a significant portion). I made my team watch this on our projector, just passing feedback along.😊
This was a fantastic walk-through! My agency is currently working on a Resource Management project in asana for Resource Recruitment, Onboarding, and offboarding. I'll love to exchange information with you if that is okay to get your input or assistance with Asana since I am a new user.
Thank you, Marquis - very helpful. Subscribed. Keep 'em coming.
Thanks for the sub! Much appreciated!
This is so good! Thank you!
To do this project template, what membership is required? [Asana]
You need to have at least the Premium Plan.
Great material as always
Thanks, Terrance!
Is this for higher tier pricing asana model?
Yes. You have to be on at least the Business Plan.

You’re very welcome!
@MarquisMurray and will importing a csv of the template work smoothly from your experience?
@Locksmiths101 it will break any rules you’ve created and doesn’t take into account any multi homed tasks, but yes, works great otherwise.
is it possible to export a template to another asana account?
Not currently, no. You’d have to export to csv.

Can u chat with team mates and post pics and links within a project or task?
You sure can! You can start a message in the project and notify anyone within the project.
Are you for hire. We are a startup and I need help organizing/understanding Asana
Hey Jim! Happy to connect. You can book a time to chat using my link. meetings.hubspot.com/marquis-murray/connect-call
Is there an ability to share a template outside of our team or organization? That's the only deal breaker with me switching from Clickup.
The only way to do that is to export the project template as a CSV. Fully built templates cannot be moved or shared between organizations yet.
@@MarquisMurray I knew I wasn't crazy. I searched everywhere.
How can i copy the template to make multiple different ones
Hey, thanks for watching!

When converting a task to a template, my template is not showing up in the dropdown. Any suggestions?

You need to convert an existing project to a template before you can use it. It cannot be added to a current project that you are using though.
I have pretty much similar tasks to add to one of my projects.
Ex: Content creation-July,
Content creation- Aug
Content creation Sep

Hey, that’s a big question with lots to consider. It’s a lot of trial and error. Do you have any templates or dashboards setup yet?
Just so I am clear, I can add people to a template (subtasks) and it not show up in their my tasks? I'm working on my video workflow and I want to basically set it and forget it.
That’s exactly it. The live in the template until you deploy a new project.
@@MarquisMurray Thanks so much!
Why is the resolution on this video 420 from 2001?
It’s looked fine for the past 2 years. You sure it’s not your connection?

That's awesome!
Thanks! Glad you found it helpful.

Hey Marcus, I’ve had this on my list for a while now. I think it’s time to make a video on resource management.
