    I think each line has its advantages. I love throwing 8lb braid with an 8lb fluo leader when using a wacky worm or a weightless fluke.
    I tried several different lines for those, and it seems iv had the most success with that combo. It could be in my head, but i guess it's all about confidence.
    Great video btw. I can tell you are passionate about the sport.

    I'm a braid to fluro guy, it's heavily promoted in Australia. Im hear you about having to do leaders etc...for me I'm time poor mostly so straight through fluro makes some sense

    We use braid for the "feel". In the midwest it is unlikely you fish deep. I would guess 50 feet or less. Out west, the mountains, or the ocean we fish 300 feet or more for halibut, 150 for walleye or lake trout. Braid is the thing.

      I didn’t say it was not needed. I just said to me, I didn’t prefer it. Again I know there’s different applications and different people. Nice explanation 🤟🏻
      Thanks for your comment

    Almost all of my combos, spinning and bc’s are braid to flouro. Never had a knot fail on a fish. Every once in a while when I’m hung up. Braid has better feel, no stretch, casts better, lasts longer, allows me to fish cover… so many advantages. Master the knot and you will never go back

    Line is just a tool you use, the situation determines what tool is best for the job

    This is going to be very interesting...I might actually do the same type of segment in my channel. Seems like if you're passionate about a topic it's a pretty easy video to produce

    I agree 100% , great video and opinion . I have been a Trilene XL or Bass Pro Excel guy for decades . The last big spool I bought of XL was bad , broke off again and again on many different rods and situations . On a whim I bought KastKing on Amazon and it is by far my favorite Mono . It is supple , strong , not much memory . The only bitch I have is the spool is not user friendly . I am not plugging for KastKing , we all have our favorite lines .

    When you get older, cissy rods and finesse baits and light line will become more important 😁

    I personally enjoy having the highest success rate I can, and increasing my overall success as a bass fisherman. Therefore I will continue to use fluorocarbon and braided line.

    How’s that new nitro performing,any issues, on that 5”main controller screen,seats,carpet, etc,I’m still on the sidelines,nitro z20 & Phoenix 721. Nitro is cheaper in price ??

    • @troynorthoutdoors1197
      @troynorthoutdoors1197  11 месяцев назад +1

      My Nitro been fantastic. Mine was a special order and I do think you get a little better quality doing that but maybe that’s just a hunch because every Nitro boat I’ve ordered has been special order and they’ve all been great. I do have another video on my page do a walk-through on the boat if you’ve seen that or not, you might want to check it out. Basically, no major issues just a couple minor ones that I addressed myself. The carpets been great. I did not want to see deck for personal reasons I like Carpet even in the cockpit. Seats are extremely comfortable and extremely well-made. Performance has been impressive. It took a little bit to get used to this model as I was running in 898 before this, so they are totally different hulls and it took a little bit to learn its sweet spot. The the nitro tender run a tad cheaper in price but that’s not because of lack of quality. That’s the way the business is structured. Any issues I’ve ever had with any of mine over the years I’ve seen other guys have with all the other manufacturers. That being said, I highly recommend one.
      Oh, and for the record a lot of guys gripe about the trailer and I will admit the trailers a little noisy but it performs just fine. 👌🏻

    Yeah you can catch a Bass on a zebco 33 with 10 pound mono. I wouldn’t dare fish a tournament with that gear. You can also kill a deer with your automobile but it’s not very optimal. Grass and Braided line is like PB and J son. Wanna really blow your mind crank bait with #20 Braid (suffix 131) it’s phenomenal!

      I’ve fished with Braid. I’m not saying I never have done it. I’m just saying it’s not for me. I’ve fished for years with monofilament and since copolymer came out and it’s phenomenal to me. I can feel everything I need and with my good rods it performs great But I respect your comment, thanks for chiming in buddy.

      @troynorthoutdoors1197  11 месяцев назад

      Oh, and for the record, I have one many tournaments on monofilament and copolymer only. A lot of them basically just monofilament. And no not just your buddy tournament where there’s 20 boats for fun. But again I respect everybody’s comment and I get what you’re saying. I’m glad that works for you. Thanks again.

      @troynorthoutdoors1197  11 месяцев назад

      Well, like I said there’s really no right or wrong. It’s all a matter of opinion honestly. This is what I prefer. I’ve tried the other way and I’m more comfortable this way. So again, I think it’s all just a matter of what’s comfortable and the confidence level for some people. I’m just giving alternative approach if someone is interested and receptive.
      Thank you for your comment, respectfully taken 👌🏻

    Great video, TNO!!! I share some of those exact sentiments about braid, flouro, and leaders. I appreciate what you are saying here, and I have a fishing question...
    What is your favorite line for Trout fishing? I've been using 6lb. mono, (Trout S.O.S) but now I'm considering going lighter. I'm just leary because I want to be able to handle a 20 inch plus if I get into one. What do you recommend?

    • @troynorthoutdoors1197
      @troynorthoutdoors1197  Год назад +2

      Hi Gary, thanks for the question. Actually for trout fishing, I use 2 pound and 4 pound. I use 2 pound most of the time. If I’m fishing in “real” heavy current and/or a little deeper, I’ll go to 4. I never use heavier than 4. Even if I’m going for trophies, I’d still would stay with 4 and no heavier.
      As much as I like hi-seas line, I really like Trilene Sensation for my trout fishing line 😁
      Thanks for the support, I’m glad you’re enjoying the videos. I appreciate you. 👊🏻

    Anyone that says a leader knot is a weak point doesn’t know how to tie a knot. Period

    • @troynorthoutdoors1197
      @troynorthoutdoors1197  11 месяцев назад

      I know how to tie one, LMAO. I’m entitled to my opinion. I think one strand of line is stronger than any kind of spice ever. This is my two cents. Oh, and for the record, I never broke one at the leader, either cause I have fished that way. Thanks for your comment. 👍🏻

    • @AngryOtter614
      @AngryOtter614 11 месяцев назад

      Unless you can tie a knot with zero friction then that's bullshit.

    • @AngryOtter614
      @AngryOtter614 11 месяцев назад

      I love braid. I get so many lures back that would have been gone if I was using mono or flouro. I'm not a leader guy either, I spool some of my baitcasters with flouro. It is stiff and I kinda hate it, but if you can pony up for Tatsu, it is much easier to work with m
