Did I see a price of only £25 for the room? If so that's amazing. I expected a capsule for that! When I go to Japan I'll bear this place in mind. I'm looking for a mix of hotels & capsule hotels. As you say, it may be a bit lonely for a solo traveller with no staff & I'd slightly prefer to have eating in option but can't complain for price. I noticed the menu was only in Japanese which seems unusual to me as English seems to be the second language & is everywhere. Ideally I'd find restaurants with English if I can. However, considering the location and comfort, 51 pounds is a good price. As you said, there are no staff and no meals, so it may be lonely for solo travelers. Basically, in Tokyo, there are English menus, so most places will bring it out if you ask the staff. Also, you may think that they cannot speak English in Japan, but they will use some basic words and gestures, so although it may be a little inconvenient, I think it will be fine!
I guessed that that torch was from the Olympics! I was wrong 😅 (Atlanta has a similar looking statue that does commemorate the 1996 Olympics. So, that's why I thought that!)
