This song brings back memories and tears about my former beautiful Gazankulu homeland under the leadership of our outstanding Prof HWE Ntan'wisi ♥️. The Shangaan nation with our beautiful Tsonga language are what we are today because of him. Rest in peace Maluleke, Mhinga, Mun'wanati. Special thanks to our Tsonga music composers: Tatana D C Marivate, S J Khosa, etc - you have made the Shangaan nation to stand out amongst other nations and be counted. This choir deserves standing ovations in all respects - you guys have killed it second to none 👏 ❤️
Lots of love from South Africa 🇿🇦 ❤️

Mbuti ya Shidzwele is a goat that is slaughtered in celebration for a child who is finally taken outside the house to face the world and be seen by the relatives, friends and the community.
In Shangaan culture, when a child is born - the child is protected inside the house and only special people like the parents and distinguished grandmothers are allowed access into that house to see this new born. After few months the child can finally be taken outside to be seen and celebrated by whoever. A special ceremony to celebrate and welcome the child is made where people will bring the child some gifts. A goat 🐐 is slaughtered and it is called Mbuti ya Shidzwele.
The attendees of such a celebration function play with the child. Touching the soft cheeks, giving the baby child some gifts, singing , dancing and ululating.
Today ,the child is grown up facing the challenges of life & the child remembers the days she/he was born including the day he/ she had been celebrated 🍾
I HOPE THAT I HAVE GIVEN SOME MEANING FOR THOSE WHO DO NOT UNDERSTAND TSONGA LANGUAGE

Beautiful song. It so sad that choral and classical music has died in this country.

my mother held me with both her hands, sitting down folding her legs nursing me (the way you sit when you do yoga)
