Nice Les Pauls collection...
The first R8 sounded best and perfect to me, but your traditional is a winner too IMO. I guess those 59 tributes are as good as they say in the right guitar.
May I learn your opinion on choosing between a historic or custom shop and a good USA production, like a Traditional? Your traditionals sound really good, I had one but let it go.
The main difference is the feel. Historics have thinner nitro finish, different types of dyes, etc. The necks also feel different. They are also more consistent as far as quality. With traditionals, it's best if you can play them before you buy, but after you've upgraded hardware and electronics, they will sound just as the historics imo. I like the standard production ones just as much as the historics, for different reasons.
